Sermon: Make up Your Mind Not to Worry
When we have troubles, we often try to figure everything out ourselves and often become worried. Jesus reminds us there is no need to worry because it doesn’t help. He says, “Can any of you add one moment to his/her life span by worrying?” The obvious answer is, “No!” Worry cannot add a single minute to our lives. Worry cannot add a single dollar to the bank account. Worry cannot increase our church attendance or help my preaching – you can trust me on that! Instead, Jesus encourages us to “seek first the kingdom of God and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” May we decide to seek the kingdom of God here and now!

Worship Service for Sunday, November 14, Heritage Sunday, 173rd Anniversary
Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 2:1-10
Sermon 证道: “We are a story people - the story continues”
Knox was founded in 1848 as a Free Presbyterian Church. Over the last 173 years, there have been many changes, including becoming a United Church congregation in 1925. The COVID-19 times presented many challenges. During the last year and a half, we have been fortunate to worship together online and hope that those who have joined us have found strength for these times.

Rev. Dr. Japhet Ndhlovu, our guest preacher, is the Executive Minister, Church in Mission Unit, United Church of Canada.

Worship Service for Sunday, September 26, 2021
Worship time: 10am
Gospel Reading: Mark 马可福音 9:38-50
Message: Let Your Light Shine!
- Jesus wants the disciples to be people of godly character – the term “qualities of salt” in verse 50 refers to people who are righteous and pure. God wants us to live in peace with each other in our local communities as well as with other believers even if we do not recognize them as being in “our group.” Two clear commands – to be at peace and to have a godly influence on those around us. Our obedience to these two commands is needed so very much in our worldly surroundings in which we now find ourselves.

Virtual Worship service for Sunday, September 19, 2021
Worship time: 10am - then stream anytime
Gospel Reading: Mark 9:30-37
Sermon 证道: “Be a Good Example”

- It has been said that Jesus came proclaiming an upside-down kingdom. What Jesus said and taught turns our way of thinking on its head. He said things like, if you want to live, you must die; and if you want to save your life, you must lose it.
The ways of Jesus are counter-intuitive and counter-cultural.
In Mark 9, Jesus says that the way to greatness is the way of service.
The Christ invites us to live the greatness of humility.

Worship Service for Sunday, August 1
Worship time: 10am - https://www.myknox.ca
Scripture Reading: John 6:24-35
Sermon: Be Confident in What You Have!“
You are what you eat” was a popular saying in the 1960s. It’s not simply about the food but is also a deeply religious idea.
Behind all our hungers, desires, and longings is our desire for God, the divine presence.
Jesus says, “Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life.”
He is talking about spiritual food that satisfies – the bread of life that produces joy, peace, humility, surrender, unity, beauty, and generosity, our spiritual fruit.
May we all take that food as the disciples ask, “Sir, give us this bread daily (Jn. 6:34).”
