The Toronto Zen Centre was founded in 1967 by Roshi Philip Kapleau to provide a supportive environment for the authentic study & practice of Zen Buddhism.

In Buddhism, we say there are no accidents. If you feel a pull towards the Buddha’s teaching and would like to explore further or would like to enhance your own peace of mind or spiritual practice, we invite you to the Toronto Zen Centre. The best place to begin is at an Introductory Workshop with Roshi Henderson: http://www.torontozen.org/courses.html

On Sunday, October 5, the Zen Centre will have a special Thanksgiving Ceremony. Gratitude is a sublime emotion that when practiced frequently lifts the spirits and opens our heart. When we experience gratitude we realize our interconnection with all people and things and selfishness is transcended. Thus it is particularly significant to those walking a spiritual path as we can also voice our gratitude to our Sangha brothers and sisters and the ancestors who made the Dharma accessible.
