On behalf of the Executive Leadership Team and the Greater Destiny Apostolic Church family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Bishop Dr. Ezra Douse, the Lewis and Douse family, and all those grieving the passing of Bishop Douse’s beloved cousin, Sister Monica Lewis.
Sister Monica was a true trailblazer, community leader, and beloved pillar of Toronto’s Little Jamaica community whose impact reached far beyond her family. Affectionately known as “Miss Monica,” she was a beloved pillar of Toronto’s Little Jamaica community and dedicated much of her life to preserving its rich history, culture, and legacy. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on the city and will be remembered for generations to come.
She also held a special place in Bishop Douse’s personal journey, as she and her husband, Mr. George Lewis, welcomed him into their home when he first migrated to Toronto. Their kindness, generosity, and support during that season of his life helped lay a foundation that will never be forgotten. The love and hospitality they extended left a lasting impact and remain a cherished part of his journey.
As a church family, we join together in prayer, asking the Lord to comfort and strengthen the entire family during this season of loss. May the precious memories of Sister Monica’s life, love, and legacy bring peace and encouragement in the days ahead.
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4 (KJV)
Please keep Bishop Douse and the Lewis family in your prayers. 🙏🏾🕊️
