"To focus on gratitude when so much is under threat may seem a luxury we cannot afford. I would, however, argue the exact opposite. The ability to give thanks is what strengthens our resolve to honour and protect what matters most—those precious things that command our deepest gratitude. "

Chalice Lighting for Yom Kippur

We light our chalice, symbol of our faith,
For truth, sought through a questioning heart and an attentive mind;
And for love, pursued through obstacles inside and outside our own human heart;
And for forgiveness, and all it entails—
The place where truth and love meet and merge.

Hello CanUUdle attendees, other UU youth, and youth group leaders,

As you may know, the election for the new Jr. Youth Observer to the Board took place last Monday at CanUUdle. If you didn't know that, you either didn't attend CanUUdle, or were part of the 50% of attendees who were asleep at the time. Oops! We want to hear from ALL of you, so we've opened this online voting form, as well as video recordings of the applicant's speeches. If you did vote at CanUUdle, PLEASE DO NOT VOTE AGAIN! Online voting will close this Wednesday.

Youth group leaders and advisors, please pass this message on to your youth!

What's all this about?

The Canadian Unitarian Council funds and coordinates national-level UU youth events, like the annual youth convention CanUUdle. They also allow youth to be part of their decision making processes by allowing two Youth Observers to attend and contribute to their board meetings! Every year, one new Youth Observer is elected by the UU youth of Canada as another finishes their term.

Thanks for helping to keep our youth programming running!

Hello!

We are looking to build up a shared resource of 8th principle worship materials to offer congregations across Canada. So many of you have done amazing work with reflections, music, readings, activities and more and we want to uplift that by collecting them into one space to be able to share with other congregations when they reach out for materials. You will of course be credited and named and are welcome to share anything from video links to written documents.
Please send your materials to; [email protected]
Thank you so much in advance!

Tonight! Register to join us on zoom as we collectively engage in learning and reflection about Africville, an important and often overlooked part of Black Canadian History.

Our 8th principle is rooted in Black liberation. Being committed to the 8th principle means also being committed to dismantling anti-Black policies, systems, histories, and attitudes.

Canada has an expansive Black history that few people know about, why is that? Let’s work to undo that erasure by coming together to learn and challenge what we think we know!

You can register for this event at cuc.ca/events.
