IN CELEBRATION OF PRIDE MONTH; WHAT IS LOVE?

Love is not a noun. It's a verb.

Love is not simply an emotion. It's a behaviour.

Love is an action that requires our active participation.

Love is acted out and acted upon.

Love is having patience and showing kindness.

Love is honouring and trusting in others.

Love takes perseverance, self-control, pride, and restraint.

Love protects us.

Love allows us to open our hearts.

At Beth Torah Congregation, we celebrate the belief that every person is created b'tzelem Elohim—in the image of God—and that we are all worthy of love, dignity, and belonging.

Let's be love.

Because we all deserve to be loved.

There is something truly special about overnight camp. It becomes so much more than a place to spend the summer - it becomes a second home where lifelong friendships are formed, confidence grows, independence takes shape, and memories last a lifetime.

All three of my children were fortunate enough to attend the same camp that meant so much to me growing up. Watching them walk the same paths, embrace the same traditions, and eventually become leaders themselves was incredibly meaningful to witness.

Camp teaches so much more than sports, campfires, and bunk life. It builds confidence, leadership, resilience, compassion, and a sense of belonging. It helps children discover strengths they never knew they had and reminds them that they are capable of more than they imagine.

Long after the duffels are unpacked and summer comes to an end, the friendships, lessons, laughter, and memories remain woven into who they are.

For so many of us, camp was never just a place we went.

It was home. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out to Hayden's Garden last Thursday evening to honour Hayden's memory and support this meaningful community project. Together, we planted, weeded, watered, and got our hands dirty, all while helping grow fresh produce for local food banks. What began as a garden has become a living legacy of kindness, generosity, and community spirit.

We are grateful to everyone who donated their time, energy, and enthusiasm. Your efforts will help nourish others while ensuring that Hayden's memory continues to bloom in a beautiful and meaningful way.

And after a rewarding evening of hard work in the garden, the ice cream was a well-deserved treat, proof that giving back to the community can be both meaningful and sweet.

Meet us in front of TD Bank (next to No Frills) at 10:00 am. We will be holding up 2 big signs with our name on them!! Rain or shine.

Our beautiful vegetable garden provides fresh produce to local food banks while honouring the memory of Hayden Solomons. No materials necessary.
