🌌One week away: A Concert in the Ruins of St. Anne’s Church 🌌
+ Charles Spearin & the Local Singers with Fleshtone Aura + + DJ BODY////GRAVE
In June 2024 St. Anne’s Anglican Church was destroyed by a tragic fire. A unique and beautiful space, the church held meaning to the generations of families in Toronto’s Little Portugal Neighbourhood, and the fire was a devastating loss for the community.
Located amidst the reconstruction, A Concert in the Ruins of St. Anne’s Church is a one-night-only collaboration between Wavelength Music and “gallery without walls” Art Spin. This will be a contemplative experience under the stars as we think about renewal and collective remembrance.
Canadian doom supergroup Völur (formed by members of Blood Ceremony, Trent Severn, Do Make Say Think) will headline for a night of drone music. They will be joined by Do Make Say Think and Broken Social Scene experimental artist Charles Spearin & Local Singers with Fleshtone Aura — performing a specially curated set for this evening — and emerging chamber folk band A Horse Named Friday from Kitchener.
We are honoured to have access to this historic site, and to animate it with art and music once again.
