Prayer of Adoration
Prayer of Confession (in unison)
God of each and every life, we lay our lives before you,
acknowledging ways in which we fall short of your hope for us.
Today we confess we sometimes find it hard to forgive others. We would rather stay angry or hurt.
Sometimes we find it hard to forgive ourselves. Things done long ago still haunt us and we feel unworthy.
Too often fear prevents us from moving forward in the redeemed and forgiven life that you offer us.
Remind us of how the risen Christ forgave Peter; and how Peter went on to live and serve you.
Forgive us, Lord, and give us your peace. Help us to be peacemakers in your Kingdom here on earth.
In the name of your beloved Son, Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might,

The people are invited to "proclaim the mystery of faith:"
Christ has died.
