Monthly Dharma Days: Engage in Learning and Practice

Dharma Teaching | Life of Karma Thinley Rinpoche and Introduction to his book.
Introduction to Karma Thinley Rinpoche and his teachings
Karma Naljorma, who has been a student of Karma Thinley Rinpoche for many years, spent countless hours with him, listening to and writing down many of the teachings he gave for our centre newsletters, etc. Over the years this included receiving and editing Rinpocheâs book thatis at last in the process of being published. Entitled A Calm Place in the Storm: Buddhist Teachings on finding Wisdom and Compassion, Senge Dorje describes it as a book perfect for our Western mentality. Maggie will speak from her experience and present the Introductory chapter.
Events during the day
The schedule for each Dharma Day is structured as follows. You are welcome to come for all or any part of the day, and participate at your own pace.
Noon: Doors Open for Volunteering - Help us prepare the center, make offerings, tend to the shrines, or engage in other volunteer opportunities.
1pm: Introduction to Buddhism - Perfect for those curious about Buddhist principles and practices, this session offers an insightful overview. Bring a friend. Let us know when you arrive that you would like the intro.
2pm: Sangha Tea - Connect with fellow members over tea and snacks, and engage in meaningful discussions. Bring a snack to share.
3pm: Dharma Teaching | Karma Thinley Rinpoche's Life and New Book.
5pm: Manjushri Practice - Experience a traditional Sadhana Practice led by Soepa Tulku, followed by an open Q&A session.
Dharma Interviews: Soepa Tulku will be available throughout the day for private interviews, providing personalized guidance and support. Book your slot by emailing [email protected] or signing up on the day.
Throughout the year, our Dharma Days are designed to give attendees a comprehensive understanding of Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and rituals. Put aside one day a month to come and learn, practice, participate, and contribute. By the end of one year you can have confidence and familiarity with the path and how to apply it as well as feeling comfortable with the practices we do here at the centre.
