https://youtu.be/ywxeuQtZ5io Trusting God or Pleasing God: they are two divergent ways to live the Christian life. Pleasing God or trusting God represent the inner motives of our hearts. We want to please God but we are not called to live by our own strength and discipline and motivation. We are called to trust in God and depend on him. Then God will do what pleases him, and will work out his best plan for our lives. May God give us the patience to trust God and follow his leading in the new year 2025.

https://youtu.be/_hYTu-h5dQ4 It seems that Nehemiah’s efforts were in vain as they didn’t bring about lasting change in the people. Despite all of Nehemiah’s efforts we see that there was no real spiritual transformation that took place. The revival was short lived, and the people went back to living as they had before: breaking the same laws and covenants they had in the past.

Because our sin problem is so pervasive and so deeply ingrained—we need something that will change us from the inside out – we need Christ. That is why Nehemiah is on his knees, asking God to remember him.

If we want real spiritual transformation and revival, we must know Jesus Christ. Until we know Jesus, there will be no long-lasting transformation. Without Jesus, all of Nehemiah’s efforts would have been in vain. But Jesus came, and in Jesus our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

It seems that Nehemiah’s efforts were in vain as they didn’t bring about lasting change in the people. Despite all of Nehemiah’s efforts we see that there wa...

https://youtu.be/3BtQgYbb20o Peter says in verse 18, “For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.” This is why these false teachers are so terribly dangerous. They speak well as if they are absolutely confident in what they are saying. And when the faith is weak, and the sinful nature is strong, then seducing them to falsehood or to false teaching is not so hard any more. Most people like to hear that they can follow Christ, and at the same time enjoy the desires of their sinful nature. It is not hard to understand why those who are not grounded in the gospel faith can be easily deceived.

Peter says in verse 18, “For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are jus...

https://youtu.be/MMGvmhM0oCA In order to make every effort to confirm our calling, we do not need any extra knowledge or special gift. We have been given everything we need. Look at verses 3-4. “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

In order to make every effort to confirm our calling, we do not need any extra knowledge or special gift. We have been given everything we need. Look at vers...

https://youtu.be/wIc46POQhDY God is not interested in forced displays of service. God desires something that genuinely comes from a loving and willing heart because that is how He has loved and served us. So when you look at your own life, are you serving God because you want to or you have to? Do you feel that you are forced into serving Him or do you serve Him as an expression of thankfulness for all He is and all He has done? God wants us to share in His great desire to shepherd and add to His flock. The big question is: are you willing to do so?

God is not interested in forced displays of service. God desires something that genuinely comes from a loving and willing heart because that is how He has lo...

https://youtu.be/MJVghwHfTqo When suffering and hardship come, there are two responses. One is to look at them as troubles and complain. The other is to look at them as an opportunity to experience God’s power. The times of trouble and hardship are opportunity to experience God’s grace and turn them into fruitful victory. In this chapter, Peter encourages Christians who are being persecuted for the sake of Christ. He encourages them to live holy lives and rejoice to participate in the sufferings of Christ.

https://youtu.be/w3st45hvTVA In chapter 3, Peter teaches husbands and wives how to live happily so that God may be glorified. He also teaches them how to live in a godless society as Christians. Most importantly, Peter teaches them how to be the defenders of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, we continue to learn how to live a holy life in a family, Christian community and our society. Even though Peter seems to teach us many things, the principle is simple and clear: It is to revere Christ as Lord.

https://youtu.be/2x9WKOj4OBU Be holy, because God is holy. Crave pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow up in your salvation. May this be the desire of our hearts, the longing of our souls, and our daily prayer and endeavor. As practical reminders, I suggest the following:

1. Don’t get too attached to earthly possessions. They are only temporary.
2. Prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled.
3. Love one another deeply from the heart.
4. Crave pure spiritual milk.

Be holy, because God is holy. Crave pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow up in your salvation. May this be the desire of our hearts, the longing of our ...

https://youtu.be/x87isgMqLSM Peter encouraged the believers with the living hope in the kingdom of God. This hope enables us to live as a royal priesthood and a holy nation no matter what the world is like. The living hope gives us security, great joy, and genuine love. Let’s accept the living hope of the kingdom of God in our hearts.
