Meet Mat Savulescu, Interim Director of Operations!
We are pleased to welcome Mat Savulescu as Interim Director of Operations to the team during Savannah's maternity leave.
Mat is a nonprofit and community leader with more than a decade of experience building stronger organizations and communities. Throughout his career across nonprofit, public, and post-secondary sectors, Mat has focused on creating opportunities through workforce development, community engagement, education, and effective governance.
Most recently, he led the Career Services team at George Brown Polytechnic, where he helped students and alumni navigate their careers while building strong relationships with employers and community partners. Previously, he held leadership roles with organizations including the Bartenders Benevolent Fund, WoodGreen Community Services, the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick, Rise, Career Foundation, and Dixon Hall.
A dedicated community volunteer, Mat has served as Chair of the Board of East York Meals on Wheels, helping guide the organization through a period of growth, service innovation, and its successful merger with WoodGreen Community Services.
He currently serves as Deputy Warden at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Riverdale, supporting parish governance, stewardship, and community outreach as he continues to give back to the community he and his wife call home.
Outside of his professional and community work, Mat is an avid runner who has completed 11 marathons, including the Toronto, New York City, and Los Angeles Marathons. When he's not training for his next race, he's always happy to connect over a great cup of coffee and discuss recommendations for a good book.
