Dannys Big Party !!!
Hello Friends and Supporters,
We just wanted to give you a quick update on the celebration of life for our friend, leader and colleague Danny Grossman. Preparations to make this event exciting and meaningful for all are in full swing. If you are coming, don’t forget to reserve your spot at: https://www.eventbrite.com/.../dannys-big-party-tickets...
Featured at the open house will be a “Speakers Corner” where those in attendance can have a personal video message recorded. These videos will then be played back on a monitor during the event. Whether you send in a video or record one at the event, all will be added to Danny’s archives.

In other news, here’s a message from Andrea Nann about the procession preceding the open house: “Friends!! Danny's party is coming soon!! Have you picked your outfit yet? The event starts with a Festive Procession led by Big Smoke Brass band (are you feeling the vibe?)! We'll gather at Riverdale Park West at 1:45pm on the park path close to the corner of Wi******er and Sumach and at 2pm we'll SHIMMY down Wi******er St. towards 509 Dance. Dress for Danny! Pull out your scarves, feathers, hats, tight pants, miniskirts, sunglasses, ties...or maybe a zoot suit or glitz and glamour are more your style? Wear any attire that feeds your festive spirit! Yellow is a theme and if you own a pole...why not! Honestly though, everything goes (it is Pride Month after all!). Above all, let's have some fun, that's what Danny would LOVE.❤”

Lastly, we are so grateful for those who have donated towards the cost of mounting the event—it would certainly not happen without your assistance. BUT! We have not quite reached our target and could use a last push. If you haven’t yet contributed but are planning to, please visit https://www.ccdt.org/danny-grossman to donate to a special “Danny Grossman Memorial fund”. It would be so appreciated.

Lua Shayenne provides a movement experience rooted in African dance aesthetics. Through grounded moves inspired by West African dances, Lua invites you to celebrate your body as the temple of the spirit connected to nature’s abundance through breath, ground, and inner rhythm. Lua's artistic language draws on the oral tradition of her African ancestry where narrative is a source of wisdom and shapes humanity’s sense of purpose and place.

Join Carol Anderson for a series of January movement sessions that wake up the liquid body. While we might not be on the beach, we will defy winter by moving with the joy of integrating breath, intention and fluid motion. Dancers are encouraged to wear blue and green – water colours, and dress for ease of motion and flow.
