It’s easy to look at the brokenness in our world, feel a wave of sympathy, and then keep scrolling. But compassion that doesn’t cost us anything isn’t what Jesus modeled. Real love crosses the road, gets in the mess, and leaves a legacy.

Caring costs us:

From every nation, tribe, and tongue, God has assembled us right here in Scarborough. 🇨🇦🌎

This Sunday, June 14th, we are wrapping up our Show Love Everywhere campaign with Every Nation Sunday! We are taking time to celebrate the beautiful diversity of our house and our shared identity in Christ.

Here is your checklist for this weekend:
👗 Come representing: Wear your cultural clothing or bring a flag from your home country! Let’s fill the sanctuary with color.
🍲 Stay for lunch: Head to the atrium right after the service to sample delicious, authentic food from five different regions around the world.
🎉 Celebrate the win: We’ll be checking in on our goal to see if we crushed our campaign target together!

We are so excited to welcome our global partners, the Slocombe family, as they join us to share at church this Sunday, June 7th!

We partner with the Slocombes as they serve alongside a local organization in the Philippines supporting young women rescued from s*x trafficking.
They focus on steady, relational work within a safe home environment, helping survivors rebuild their lives through life skills development, vocational training, mentorship, and long-term dignity.

This month, we encourage you to commit to donating $250 above your regular giving to help sustain these safe homes and protective environments. We can't wait for you to meet their family and hear their hearts in person this weekend!

As we continue our campaign, we want to highlight the incredible work of our global partner, Paul W., who is on the ground in India.

Because of the highly sensitive nature of his anti-trafficking and prevention work, we protect his identity and don’t share photos of his day-to-day ministry but the impact of his work is vital. Paul works closely with local leaders to protect women, children, and families facing extreme poverty. His ministry focuses on long-term, relational solutions: providing access to education, community support, and practical pathways to stability to stop exploitation before it can even root.

Our goal for the Show Love Everywhere campaign is to have 300 households commit to giving $250 above and beyond their regular giving. Reaching this $75,000 goal allows us to fully sustain and expand the reach of vital partners like Paul, as well as our other local and global outreach initiatives. We refuse to let fear or instability define our neighbourhoods. Instead, we stay present all year long through local initiatives that anchor our community:

🏀 Youth: Sports, arts, mentorship, and life skills for the next generation.
🃏 Seniors (Café 65): Combating isolation with laughter, shared meals, and real connection every Tuesday.
🎉 Community: Hosting some of Scarborough’s largest, most joyful gatherings and block parties.

We are kicking off our Show Love Everywhere campaign! Over the next four weeks, we are locking arms as a church family to fuel and expand our local and global outreach initiatives.

From supporting safe homes for survivors in the Philippines and urban refugees in Bangkok, to community prevention in India and our own upcoming Show Love Festival right here in Scarborough, our partners are on the ground showing up consistently for vulnerable communities.

Our collective goal is simple but powerful: We are looking for 300 households to commit to giving $250 above and beyond their regular giving between now and June 14th.
Reaching this $75,000 goal ensures that these vital, life-changing ministries are fully sustained and ready to expand their reach. Every single gift builds a bridge of hope and dignity.
