Our next speaker in Kolot Mayim's 6-part Building Bridges speaker series themed Kolot Zemirot: The Many Voices of Jewish Music will be Dr. Naomi Cohn-Zentner on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 11 AM PT on Zoom.

Dr. Cohn-Zentner is a leading voice in the study of contemporary Israeli music. She will share her perspective on how Israeli songs about the war and the army have always been about a hope for peace, especially after October 7th. Her talk will examine how Israeli musicians have responded to historic recent events, offering a timely exploration of music’s role in processing grief, inspiring resilience, and connecting communities in times of crisis. It should be a fascinating and uplifting presentation.
