General Idea’s AA Bronson is donating a massive collection of books (3,500 to be exact) to the National Gallery of Canada

The books will be housed in the recently renamed “General Idea Reading Room” at the NGC Library and Archives. Alongside the Art Metropole Collection and General Idea Fonds, the AA Bronson Collection includes:



Yoko Ono, Grapefruit: A Book of Instructions with an introduction by John Lennon. Two versions: 1970 and 1971.

Wyndham Lewis, BLAST: a complete set, 1914.

Barbara Bloom: Pl***oy Volume XLI, No. 1 January 1994. Braille Edition, Part 1 of 5 Parts 1994.

Cahoots festival will happen this year - just a bit differently. Join us online, Saturday May 23, wherever you are.

Dearest friends,

With great sorrow we must cancel the 2020 in-person Cahoots festival.

We recognize that this will be a great loss for many and we assure you that we are working through our own sorrow as well.

Because we love you and couldn’t bear a year without seeing you, we are creating Cahoots Transfigured on Saturday May 23rd – a free virtual gathering. The day will involve sessions, music, and reflection. We will be using Zoom as our online platform and we hope this notice will give you some time to figure out how to use it. We will send an email and update our website and social media platforms with the details as we iron them out.

Cahoots Transfigured will have free registration. If you already purchased a ticket for 2020 Cahoots, we will refund your money in the coming weeks.

It is our sincere intention to return to our usual four-day festival in May 2021, all being well.

We wish you great peace and hope amidst these difficult times.
