OneMission

OneMission OneMission is a network of campus, church and city ministry leaders collaborating to Reach the Campu The future of the city is on the campus, literally.

FOCUS

The fact that inspires OneMission is that graduates of Toronto's Universities and Colleges stay in the City. It's future leaders are there, and reachable with the gospel, in a way that condo doormen and office tower security, will inhibit later. So the future of the Church and its influence on the city is on the campus. Reach the campus, Reach the City. But the Mission cannot stop on the ca

mpus: students need to be prepared for and supported beyond graduation. They need to connect with a network of churches that can give them community and support them and give them opportunity to serve with their gifts. They need peers and mentors already engaged in the challenges of living their faith in their unique professional and the opportunity to bring the gospel to bare on the policy and polity of their disciplines. And the Mission cannot start on the campus: young christians and their churches need help preparing and connecting their high school graduates with churches and campus ministries that can support their young and challenge them to do great things for Christ, on the campus and beyond. All the projects and initiatives of OneMission are designed to address one or more of these dimensions to the campus, it's challenges and its opportunities: on the campus, on the bridges leading into and out of the campus.

WelcomeRide: engage International Students at their port of entry, Pearson International Airport, before they join over a 100,000 others in the GTA.

These personal connections will be an opening to connect later and to introduce these students to all the amazing International Student Ministry in the City through a new website uWelcome.ca and a page (to which it currently points). They will list the work of churches and various ministries across the city including current meetings and events geared to or interesting for International Students.

WelcomeRide also aims to stimulate interest and involvement of Christian individuals and churches to reach and embrace these foreign students, because they come from many countries where the gospel is supressed and this may be there only opportunity to hear and see it, and because they will either return to their homelands to lead in their countries or will because they will settle here and be the future of this country.

The Canadian Government has been asked by its Economic Advisory Council to increase immigration by 50% in the next 5 years --largely by enticing international students to stay and meet the skill needs of Canada.

This Summer the project will be prototyped and tested. Come and join us as we seek wisdom to design it, partnerships to execute it and participants to develop it.

Note: we will also talk about followup initiatve "WelcomeAlpha" a multi-lingual Alpha will spend nearly $1m marketing in Toronto for Fall 2017
