As we continue our journey through the book of Deuteronomy, we come to that passage in Chapter 6 known as the Shema among the people of Israel. The content and application of this prayer, reminds us of the importance of understanding the heart of the law giver over the law itself. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on May 31, 2026.

As we resume our study of Deuteronomy. We reflect on the Cities of Refuge and their purpose, as described in Deuteronomy 4:31-33. As we open this passage from God’s Word, we ask: What do the Cities of Refuge remind us of today? Who is our ultimate refuge? How should this understanding translate into our daily lives? Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on May 17, 2026.

In today's sermon, we remember the place of mothers in our lives. We thank the Lord for the role our mothers have played. We also thank the Lord for those (both men and women) who have reflected the “spirit of motherhood” of caring, comfort and encouragement in our lives. The Apostle Paul says to the Thessalonian Christians that they were like a “nursing mother” to them in providing care and end support. Join us as we reflect on the mindset of motherhood. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on May 10, 2026.

This Sunday our worship service will be followed by the Annual Congregational Meeting. The ACM is a good opportunity for us to reflect on where we have come from and where we are going It is a time to reflect on the stewardship of our vision to be a center of blessing. Our Lord called His followers the light and the salt. What does it mean to be the light and salt in our times? Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on May 3, 2026.

Last Sunday we looked at Moses’ warning to the people of Israel to “watch themselves closely and carefully” on two matters. This Sunday we look at the second warning to stay away from idol worship. As we know well, idols are not limited to objects of stone, clay or precious metals, but could be ambitions, desires, and even people we treasure in our hearts. Join us as we explore our idols of today. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on April 26, 2026.

In today's sermon we return to our study of select passages from the book of Deuteronomy. In Deuteronomy chapter 4 Moses calls the people to “watch themselves very carefully” and highlights two specific areas. We will reflect on these two areas and see what they mean to us today. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on April 19, 2026.

As we continue our Lenten reflections from the book of Deuteronomy, we see the people of Israel moving from “refusal to move” mode to “rushing ahead” mode. Why the shift? What caused the shift? Our reflection today reminds us of the dangers of rushing ahead without consulting with the Lord. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on March 8, 2026.

In today's sermon as we reflect on the first of three speeches of Moses to the people of Israel, our passage tomorrow takes us to Deuteronomy 1: 26-31. We discover four reasons that prevented the nation-in-making from walking in God’s fullness for their lives. They are true and applicable to our lives today as the people of God. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on March 1, 2026.

As we journey through select passages from Deuteronomy, we find an interesting phrase Moses uses on three occasions as he addresses the people of Israel. Moses says “because of you” and is pinning the blame on the people for his not being allowed to enter the Promised Land. Let’s explore Moses’ response, the incident in question, and lessons for us today. Preached by Pastor Ben Manickam for Fairview Church of God on February 22, 2026.
