So happy to be part of this special morning! ✝️

Newly ordained Fr. David Basi, CSB celebrated the Opening School Mass at Detroit Cristo Rey High School — a school sponsored by the Basilian Fathers and the IHM Sisters. Celebrated on the Feast of St. Augustine, students and staff gathered together in faith to kick off the new school year the right way. Moments like these remind us why we show up every day. 🙏

Victorin Marijon (1851–1931, ordained 1874) 🇫🇷⛪ A defining figure in Basilian history, he guided the Congregation through some of its most challenging years—as Provincial in North America, Superior General, and later leader of the renewed French Basilians. Though his tenure was marked by difficult debates over the future of the Congregation, his deep faith, devotion to religious life, and determination helped preserve and rebuild the Basilian mission in France for generations to come 🙏✨

After a historic 2025-26 school year that saw the Shamrocks capture 10 state championships, including a four-peat in wrestling, these rings represent something truly special. Often called the Basilians’ “Second Founder,” Fr. Robert Francis Forster (1873–1929, ordained 1901) spent nearly his entire priesthood in leadership, guiding the Congregation through one of its most formative eras. As Superior General, he modernized Basilian governance, successfully led the revision of the Constitutions, strengthened community life, expanded schools and residences, and helped establish the Institute of Mediaeval Studies. 🏛️📚

Fr. John Huber, CSB and our newly elected General Council celebrated their first Mass together as the 2026 Basilian General Chapter drew to a close — opening with the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity to uphold the mission of our Congregation.

With thanksgiving to Almighty God, we joyfully announce the election of our new Superior General and General Council, chosen during the 2026 Basilian General Chapter this week. These are the men who will lead and guide our Congregation into the future:
