Temple Sinai Congregation of Toronto

Temple Sinai Congregation of Toronto Temple Sinai is an inclusive, accessible, caring Reform community, welcome home!

For nearly seventy years, Temple Sinai has been recognized as one of the most vibrant and innovative Jewish congregations in the Toronto area. Today, that legacy continues with our welcoming and inclusive approach to building community, firmly rooted in Jewish tradition. Our members live all over the GTA, so there are almost certainly other Temple members right in your neighbourhood; a great oppor

tunity to socialize outside of Temple. Beyond our full slate of worship opportunities, including daily morning and evening services, Temple is home to many social and Jewish cultural activities and events. In fact, there’s a Temple group for almost every phase of life, including yours. Our seniors’ groups are very active, participating in excursions and creating at-Temple events year round. Every year we hold a Jewish Film festival featuring great movies from Israel and beyond. And our families with kids enjoy events geared for nursery school, bar/bat mitzvah years, and the teen years. We also take pride in a very rich musical tradition that continues today with excellent member participation in our youth and adult choirs. Temple holds a number of concerts each year as part of our Sounds of Sinai program. We also provide strong support to members pursuing musical education and excellence.

Sunday's Walk with Israel was an inspiring show of strength in our community, with a record number of 60,000 Jews and allies showing up.

We were touched to see so many of our members in the crowd and honoured to be the starting point for the Walk again this year.

Am Yisrael Chai forever 🇮🇱💙

Our Grade 10 confirmands recently co-led our Shabbat service at a special Confirmation Kabbalat Shabbat.

Confirmation is a significant milestone in Jewish learning, where teenagers affirm their Jewish identity and commitment to the faith.

We are inspired by the dedication of our Temple youth and so proud of their achievements.

A Shabbat to celebrate our youth!

🎓️ Friday, May 29, at 6:30pm

The whole congregation is invited to join us for an evening of community, music, and celebration as we honour the dedication of our Temple Sinai teens.

— Kabbalat Shabbat with Confirmation Ceremony: our Grade 10 confirmands co-lead our service and share insights from their Jewish learning.
— Festive Potluck Dinner with Gordon honourees: following the service, enjoy a community meal to recognize our Grade 11 & 12 Gordon Leaders, who have shown outstanding leadership at Temple Sinai and are participating in a year-long fellowship, made possible by the Philip, Rachel, Marlene, and Penny Gordon Fund.
— Farewell to our ShinShin: help us give a warm "todah rabbah" to our wonderful ShinShin, Aviv, as we celebrate her final Friday night with our congregation.

Come for good food, community, and a celebration of our youth.

During our Shabbat service on May 16, we will be joined by special guest speaker, Dr. Ragini Sharma, an ally from the Hindu community and a member of the Alliance of Canadians Combatting Antisemitism (ALCAA).

In conversation with Rabbi Dolgin, Dr. Sharma will share insights into Canada’s Hindu community, including its place in Canadian society, the experiences it faces, and the opportunities for deeper understanding between our communities. We will conclude with brief remarks from ALCAA’s Mark Sandler.

This is a meaningful opportunity for learning, dialogue, and allyship. The morning will be followed by a Kiddush lunch and our regular Remote Shalom program.
