The Sixth Sunday of Pascha is the Sunday of the Blind Man.

Please join us on May 17th as we celebrate the miracle of Christ healing a man who had been blind since birth.

It's springtime in Toronto, so there are going to be more road closures this Sunday. You may have to take alternate routes to get to church, particularly if you use the DVP, or cross Yonge Street.

The Don Valley Parkway will be fully closed from Highway 401 to the Jarvis Street ramp on the Gardiner Expressway.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, there will also be a number of road closures for the Sporting Life 10K Run. Around 21,500 participants, with the starting line at Yonge Street and Glengrove Avenue.

Police said the following road closures will be in place:

From Saturday at 7 a.m. until Sunday at 5 p.m.:
Bayview Avenue between Front Street to Mill Street
Mill Street between Tannery Road to Bayview Avenue

Beginning at 4 a.m. Sunday:
Yonge Street between Lawrence Avenue and Eglinton Avenue
Front Street between Trinity Street and Bayview Street
Cherry Street between Eastern Avenue and Mill Street
Bayview Avenue between River Street and Front Street

Beginning at 6:30 a.m. Sunday:
Yonge Street between Eglinton Avenue and Front Street
Front Street between Yonge Street and Trinity Street
Eastern Avenue between Front Street and Trinity Street

The race starts at 7:30 a.m.

On Sunday, May 10th we observe the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman which is the fifth Sunday after Pascha (Easter) in our church. It celebrates Christ's encounter with the Samaritan woman (St. Photini) at Jacob’s Well.
