This Sunday, Jesus looks upon the crowds with compassion, seeing people who are “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” In a world where many of us carry hidden burdens, Christ still meets us with healing, hope, and love — and then sends us to share that love with our neighbours.

What journey are you facing today?
Reflecting on Abraham, the woman who reached out to touch Jesus’ cloak, and Jairus, we explored what it means to trust God and “journey on by stages”—one step at a time, one act of trust at a time. If you are carrying a burden, perhaps God’s invitation is not to see the whole map, but simply to take the next step.

This Sunday, Trinity Sunday, we celebrate our 65th anniversary and give thanks for Holy Trinity, Guildwood: for all who have worshipped, served, prayed, hoped, laughed, wept, and loved in this community over the years.
On Trinity Sunday, we are drawn into the mystery of God as a dynamic circle of love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternally giving and receiving, creating and renewing, inviting you, me, and all of us into the dance of God’s love
As a beautiful symbol of that dance, we are delighted that Abigail Eniola Omopariola will offer a beautiful interpretive dance to “Oceans (Spirit Lead Me).”
At the root of so much suffering in our world are broken relationships. The Trinity is one of our deepest Christian symbols of loving relationship: unity without uniformity, diversity without division, community held together in love. Diversity is not a problem to be solved, but a gift to be received. We are all God’s children. Black, white, brown; young and old; male and female; each one of us is made in God’s image, made in love, according to God’s likeness.
As we celebrate 65 years of ministry, may God bless us in our mission as we dream, pray, and work with Jesus for a loving, equitable, and peaceful world.

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples, ten days after Jesus’ Ascension.

If the Ascension left the disciples wondering — not for the first time — what was going to happen next, the extraordinary events of Pentecost left them in no doubt that Jesus’ promise was true: that he would always be with them.

Filled and empowered by the joy of the Spirit, they went out to share the Gospel of God’s love with the whole world. Because of this, Pentecost is often called the “Birthday of the Church.” You are invited to enter into the Spirit of the day by wearing something red.

This Sunday we celebrate both Ascension Sunday and Jerusalem and Holy Land Sunday.

We are fortunate to welcome our own Beth Raymer, who will speak with us from her extensive experience living, working, and ministering in the Holy Land. As we pray for peace in Jerusalem, Gaza, Israel, Palestine, and throughout the Holy Land, we are reminded that the Church is called to be the Body of Christ: the heart and hands of Christ in the world, instruments of God’s care, working for love, equity, justice, peace, hope, and comfort in these changing times.

This Sunday invites us to lift our eyes toward the ascended Christ, even as we open our hearts to a hurting world, trusting that God’s Spirit equips us to bear Christ’s love into every place of longing and need.

On this Mother’s Day and Sixth Sunday of Easter, we give thanks for all who have mothered us into life, and we hear Jesus’ tender promise: “I am coming to you… you in me, and I in you.” In today’s service and sermon, "God Is at Home in You", we celebrate the Mothering Love of God that gives us life, holds us close, and calls us to become a home for others.

On Sunday, May 10th, at the 10.30 am service, we will be celebrating "all mothers" and hope you will come out and celebrate the mothers in your life with us. A mother is someone who reflects God’s love through nurturing, guiding, protecting, encouraging, and walking alongside others with compassion and grace. Mothering is found not only in birth, but also in the countless ways people care for, support, teach, comfort, and help others flourish within families, friendships, churches, and communities. We honour all who offer this faithful and life-giving presence in the lives of others.

Through Emily Carr’s painting "Scorned as Timber, Beloved of the Sky" we reflect on Jesus’ promise that “in my Father’s house there are many dwelling places,” and the deep Gospel truth that we are beloved of God.
As Mental Health Week begins, we are reminded that the church is called to be a house of belonging — a place where the lonely, wounded, anxious, and overlooked may discover: you matter, you are seen, you belong, you are beloved.
