코스타(국제복음주의학생연합회)는 1986년 미국 워싱턴 근교에서 시작된 해외 유학생 수련회로, 소수의 유학생들과 복음주의적 사역자들이 미국 내 모든 유학생들의 영적 필요를 놓고 기도하던 중, 그들에게 복음을 전하고 조국사회의 복음적 변혁을 위해 섬길 사람들을 양육하며, 나아가 학문과 신앙의 통합을 주도할 미래의 크리스천 지도자들을 세워야 한다는 비전을 보게 되었고, 홍정길 목사님과 이동원 목사님께서 함께 사역을 시작하게 되었다.
