6. Remember, O LORD, Thy tender mercies and Thy lovingkindnesses; For they have been ever of old.
7. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: According to thy mercy remember thou me for Thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
8. Good and upright is the LORD: Therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9. The meek will He guide in judgment: And the meek will He teach his way.
10. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth Unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
KEY VERSE: PSALM 25:1 “Unto Thee O Lord, do I lift up my soul.”
When I went back after my NYSC, I continued with the work of God and later got employed as an accountant with the government because that was what I read in the university. I continued until a time came that I was selected to become a Regional Overseer in Deeper life. In August, 1994, I was sent to Gembu in Sarduana region to be the Regional Overseer. I was struggling to be transferred by the government to the sub-treasu⁸ work.
I approached the Accountant General to transfer me because I had been appointed to pastor in Gembu but he declined and said I should resign and face the work of God. Ah! When he refused, I wanted to move to Schools’ management board so that I would be transferred to Gembu as a secondary school teacher so that I can be teaching and pastoring.
Then the Lord said, “If the time for your full-time service has come, don’t look for another job. I put in my one-month notice of resignation in November, 1994. In December, we went to Lagos State for the Deeper life Leadership strategic congress. While there, the general superintendent (GS), Pastor W. F. Kumuyi directed that I should be interviewed by some senior overseers because he had another appointment for me.
What happened was that during the Deeper life crusade at Jalingo in October where the GS was present, I was given a message to preach by the then State Overseer who happened to be our beloved Pastor Mikailu Aru. The message given to me was on righteousness and faithfulness unto death.
As I was preaching, Pastor Kumuyi was listening and after the message, he told the State Overseer about the person that preached and that he wanted to see him. So, in Lagos the GS directed that I should be interviewed and when they reported back to him, he asked them how it went and they told him, “Ah! That man is sound!” he replied, “I know.”
Thought for the day: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Song for the day: Trust and obey.
