As we celebrate 65 years of faith and community at St. Jude’s Parish, we are delighted to announce the return of the St. Jude’s Gala.

Join us for our 10th Annual Gala on Friday, September 18th, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Montecassino Event Centre (Cheswood).

Tickets go on sale May 16–17: Adults $125; Children (under 12) $90. Admission includes an open bar, four-course dinner, silent auction, dancing, and more.

Tickets will be available after weekend Masses and at the parish office.

We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with you.

In April the Archdiocese of Toronto announced its annual clergy changes. We are saddened to announce Father Croos will be returning to his home diocese in Sir Lanka.

On behalf of the entire parish community we extend our sincere gratitude to Father Croos for dedication and support to our community over this past year. We thank him for his unwavering support of the Gospel message, his love, kindness, and humour to the people of our community, and his constant prayer and encouragement during challenging times.

We ask the community to join us in wishing him all the best as he continues his ministry to Christs flock. We pray for him as he continues to spread the Good News and ask the Lord to continue to bless his servant Father Croos on his new mission. We ask our blessed Apostle St. Jude to continue to intercede for Father Croos in his times of need.

Father Croos will celebrate his final mass on June 20/21, 2026 the 12th Sunday of Ordinary Time.

Ad aprile l’Arcidiocesi di Toronto ha annunciato i cambiamenti annuali del clero. Siamo rattristati nell’annunciare che Padre Croos farà ritorno alla sua diocesi di origine, nello Sri Lanka.

A nome dell’intera comunità parrocchiale, esprimiamo la nostra sincera gratitudine a Padre Croos per la dedizione e il sostegno offerti alla nostra comunità nell’ultimo anno. Lo ringraziamo per il suo incrollabile sostegno al messaggio del Vangelo, per l’amore, la gentilezza e l’umorismo dimostrati verso la gente della nostra comunità, e per le sue costanti preghiere e il suo incoraggiamento nei momenti difficili.

Chiediamo alla comunità di unirsi a noi nell’augurargli ogni bene per il suo ministero al servizio del gregge di Cristo. As we progress through the month of May, we turn our hearts and minds towards Mary, our beloved Mother. Her courageous and faithful response to the Angel Gabriel, when she said “yes” to the divine invitation, not only brought our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, into the world, but it also signified her acceptance of the profound role of being the mother of our faith and the mother to God’s people. Her unwavering commitment and willingness to embrace this responsibility serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all of us.

Through her exemplary life, Mary offers us a nurturing presence to look up to, a guiding light that provides comfort and support. She stands as a powerful intercessor, pleading with God on our behalf and offering her maternal love and protection. Her life teaches us the importance of faith, obedience, and love, and she encourages us to follow her example in our own lives.

On this special occasion of Mother’s Day, let us come together in prayer and ask Mary, our Mother, to intercede for all mothers. As we celebrate this day dedicated to honouring the incredible women who have nurtured and cared for us, may each of our mothers be inspired by Mary’s example. May they be filled with divine grace, be blessed with good health, and be granted the strength to continue their sacred journey of motherhood.

Let us come together in prayer for our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, as he commemorates the first year of his pontificate. We humbly ask, Lord, through your unwavering and abundant blessings, to guide Pope Leo with your divine wisdom and strength as he shepherds your flock with love and compassion. Grant him the grace and insight necessary to effectively share the Gospel message with all of your children, inspiring them to live in faith and harmony.

Lord, we beseech you to intercede for Pope Leo, sending forth your Holy Spirit upon him as he continues the work of God on Earth. May he be filled with courage and determination to lead with integrity and devotion, fostering unity and peace among all believers. We trust in your eternal guidance and protection as he fulfils his sacred duties. Amen.

St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church joyfully commemorates the 65th anniversary of its founding, offering heartfelt thanksgiving to Almighty God for decades of faith, worship, and service within our parish community. Since its earliest days, the parish has been entrusted to the patronage of St. Jude Thaddeus one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Christ, cousin of Jesus, and a faithful witness to the Gospel.

St. Jude walked closely with the Lord during His earthly ministry and was privileged to witness the central mysteries of our Christian faith. He was present at the Last Supper of the Lord, where Christ instituted the sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood; he journeyed with Christ through the events of His Passion and Crucifixion; he bore witness to the joy and triumph of the Resurrection; and he was present at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles to proclaim the Gospel to the nations and establishing the foundation of the Church.

Throughout the centuries, St. Jude has been venerated as the patron saint of hopeless cases and things almost despaired of, a title that reflects the deep trust the faithful place in his powerful intercession. For 65 years, the parishioners of St. Jude’s have turned to their patron in prayer during moments of difficulty, uncertainty, and thanksgiving, finding hope, consolation, and renewed confidence in God’s mercy and providence.

St. Jude’s Parish holds a unique and cherished place within the Archdiocese of Toronto out the 225 parishes it is the only church bearing the name of St. Jude. This distinction reflects a rich spiritual heritage and a profound devotion that has shaped the identity of the parish across generations. Within this community, countless sacraments have been celebrated, vocations nurtured, families formed, and lives transformed through faith in Christ.

As we mark this significant milestone, we honour the clergy, religious, parishioners, and benefactors—past and present—whose faith and dedication have built and sustained this parish community. Above all, we entrust the future of St. Jude’s to the continued intercession of our patron, praying that he may guide us forward in fidelity to the Gospel, unity in our mission, and steadfast hope in the promises of Christ.

May the next generations continue to find in St. Jude’s a spiritual home rooted in faith, strengthened by prayer, and committed to service.

“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live.” — John 11:25

All is quiet.

The cross stands empty. The tomb is sealed. The disciples are scattered, their hearts heavy with grief and uncertainty. It is a day without words — a day where hope seems buried, and the world waits in silence.

Holy Saturday invites us into this sacred stillness. The Church keeps watch at the tomb of Christ, remembering that even in the darkness, God is at work. Beneath the weight of sorrow, a promise remains — that death will not have the final word.

And as night falls, everything begins to change.

A flame is lit. The darkness is broken. The Light of Christ enters, and the Church proclaims with joy what was once unimaginable: He is risen.

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

As we close the door on this year, let us take a moment to reflect on the profound role of Mary, our Mother, who brought the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, into the world. Her unwavering faith and readiness to serve the Lord serves as an inspiring example for us all. May we, too, be reverently prepared to enter into this new year with the same spirit of readiness and devotion that Mary exemplified.

Throughout her life, Mary, our Mother, stood faithfully by her son, Jesus, during his earthly ministry. She supported him through his trials and triumphs, embodying strength, grace, and unwavering commitment. In the same way, we are called to stand up for our faith, to be courageous in professing the Good News to everyone we encounter, and to share the love and teachings of Christ with the world. Let us find solace and strength in the knowledge that the Lord our God will sustain us, guide us, and provide us with the courage and wisdom we need in this new year.

As we embark on this journey into the new year, we extend our heartfelt wishes to you and your loved ones. May it be filled with happiness, blessings, and countless opportunities to grow in faith and love. We pray that you will experience the peace and joy that come from living a life aligned with the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. A very happy and blessed New Year to you all!

On this Holy Day of Obligation the Saviour of the World who came to save us from the darkness of sin, comes into the world a child wrapped in swaddling clothes laid in a simple manger.

Lord Jesus you came into the world as a humble servant, as a child tucked away in a manger with his parents by His side. Your birth signifies the Good News the first of many things to be announced and spread to your people across the world. The Christ the King was Born in Bethlehem on this Day.
