برعاية سيادة المطران مار روبرت سعيد جرجيس، مطران أبرشية مار أدي الكلدانية في كندا، تم افتتاح إرسالية جديدة لرهبنة بنات قلب يسوع الأقدس بإسم "إرسالية خامة الله الشهيدة، الأخت سيسيليا موشي حنا" كي تكون شفيعة لهذه الإرسالية الجديدة،
تيمّنًا بشخص وفضائل الأخت سيسيليا التي كانت تلبي طلب الرهبنة في أي رسالة تود فتحها في اية محافظة او قرية عراقية.
فعيشها لنذر الطاعة كان بالنسبة لها سبب سرور وفرح وذلك لايمانها العميق ان تلك الفرص هي لنشر ملكوت قلب يسوع.
تاريخ حياة الأخت سيسيليا
وُلدت ماريا موشي حنا سنة 1930 في قرية بيبوزي التابعة لأبرشية العمادية – دهوك، ونالت سر المعمودية في 14 تشرين الأول 1931. فقدت والديها وهي طفلة صغيرة، فنقلت مع شقيقتها فهيمة إلى قرية أرادن، حيث عهد بهما إلى راهبات بنات قلب يسوع الأقدس للاعتناء بهما.
نشأت ماريا في أجواء رهبانية مفعمة بالإيمان والتقوى والمحبة والبساطة الإنجيلية، واختارت الحياة الرهبانية. وفي 12 كانون الأول 1948 نذرت نذورها الأولى، واتخذت اسم الأخت سيسيليا تيمناً بالقديسة الشهيدة سيسيليا. أما نذورها الدائمة فأعلنتها في 15 آب 2000، وكانت من الوجبة الأولى من الأخوات اللواتي أعلنّ نذورهن الدائمة بعد انتقال الرهبنة إلى الحق البطريركي سنة 1998.
كانت تتقن اللغة الكلدانية والعربية، وتجيد الصلاة الطقسية الكلدانية، كما كانت ماهرة في الخياطة والحياكة.
بدأت خدمتها الرسولية في رسالة العمادية سنة 1949، حيث خدمت حتى سنة 1961، ثم تنقلت بين رسالات وأديار الرهبنة في الموصل والقائم وبغداد وأربيل، مكرسة حياتها لخدمة الله والكنيسة والأخوات. كما تولّت مسؤوليات رهبانية متعددة، منها الرئيسة العامة لولايتين، ومستشارة، ونائبة الرئيسة العامة، ومدبرة عامة، ومسؤولة محلية في عدد من الأديرة.
تميزت الأخت سيسيليا بمحبتها العميقة للناس، وخاصة للجيران، وكانت تحرص على بناء علاقات المحبة والمودة معهم من خلال الزيارات والمشاركة في المناسبات والأعياد والتعازي.
وكانت غيرتها على الرهبنة وثباتها في رسالتها عظيمين. ففي ليلة 15–16 آب 2002، وبعد احتفالها بعيد انتقال العذراء مريم، أصرت على البقاء وحدها في دير المحبة في بغداد، رافضة أن تترك الدير والقربان المقدس وحدهما، رغم إصرار الأخوات وابن أختها عليها أن تبيت معهم.
بعد عودتها من بيت ابن أختها، أمضت وقتاً طويلاً في السجود أمام القربان المقدس، ثم ذهبت للنوم. وفي تلك الليلة دخل ثلاثة من القتلة إلى الدير، فعذبوها وقتلوها بوحشية، بعد أن طعنوها سبع طعنات وذبحوها، بسبب ثباتها في إيمانها وبقائها في الدير.
انتشر خبر استشهادها في العراق وخارجه، وأُعلن عنها منذ ذلك الحين شهيدة. وفي السنة نفسها، أُدرج اسمها مع شهداء الكنيسة في جريدة L’Osservatore Romano، الجريدة الرسمية للفاتيكان.
وفي 10 تشرين الأول 2018، أعلنت الكنيسة الأخت سيسيليا خادمة الله، باعتبارها قُتلت من أجل الإيمان. وتصفها الوثائق الرسمية بأنها عذراء وشهيدة.
لقد كانت حياتها شهادة للمحبة والتواضع والوداعة والوفاء لله وللرهبنة، وكان موتها تتويجاً لمسيرة طويلة من العطاء، فاستحقت أن تُدعى بحق شهيدة الحب الإلهي.
واليوم نحتفل بافتتاح سنة اليوبيل الفضي لاستشهاد الاخت سيسيليا، فلنصلِّ معًا ونطلب شفاعتها
Under the patronage of His Excellency Bishop Mar Robert Saeed Jirjees, Bishop of the Chaldean Diocese of Mar Addai in Canada, a new mission of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was inaugurated under the name “Mission of the Servant of God and Martyr, Sister Cecilia Moshe Hana,” so that she may be the patroness and intercessor of this new mission.
This mission was established in honor of the person and virtues of Sister Cecilia, who was always ready to respond to the Congregation’s request to serve in any mission it wished to establish in any province or village of Iraq. Living her vow of obedience was, for her, a source of joy and happiness, because of her deep faith that every such opportunity was a means of spreading the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Life of Sister Cecilia
Maria Moshe Hana was born in 1930 in the village of Bibouzi, belonging to the Diocese of Amadiya–Dohuk. She received the Sacrament of Baptism on October 14, 1931. She lost her parents at a very young age and was taken, together with her sister Fahima, to the village of Aredan, where they were entrusted to the care of the Sisters of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Maria grew up in a religious atmosphere filled with faith, piety, love, and evangelical simplicity, and she chose religious life. On December 12, 1948, she made her first vows and took the name Sister Cecilia, in honor of Saint Cecilia, the virgin and martyr. She made her perpetual vows on August 15, 2000, and was among the first group of sisters to make their perpetual vows after the Congregation was elevated to Patriarchal Right in 1998.
She was fluent in both Chaldean and Arabic and was proficient in the Chaldean liturgical prayers. She was also skilled in sewing and knitting.
She began her apostolic ministry in the Amadiya mission in 1949, where she served until 1961. She then served in various missions and convents of the Congregation in Mosul, Al-Qaim, Baghdad, and Erbil, dedicating her life to the service of God, the Church, and her sisters. She also held several responsibilities within the Congregation, including serving two terms as Superior General, as a councilor, Vice Superior General, General Bursar, and local superior in several convents.
Sister Cecilia was distinguished by her deep love for people, especially her neighbors. She was eager to build relationships of love and friendship with them through visits and by sharing in their celebrations, feasts, and times of mourning.
Her zeal for the Congregation and her steadfastness in its mission were remarkable. On the night of August 15–16, 2002, after celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, she insisted on remaining alone at the Almahaba Convent in Baghdad, refusing to leave the convent and the Blessed Sacrament alone, despite the insistence of the sisters and her nephew that she spend the night with them.
After returning from her nephew’s home, she spent a long time in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament and then went to bed. That night, three murderers entered the convent, tortured her, and brutally killed her. They stabbed her seven times and slit her throat because of her steadfastness in her faith and her decision to remain in the convent.
News of her martyrdom spread throughout Iraq and beyond, and from that time she was recognized as a martyr. In the same year, her name was included among the martyrs of the Church in L’Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Vatican.
On October 10, 2018, the Church declared Sister Cecilia a Servant of God, recognizing that she had been killed for the faith. Official documents describe her as a virgin and martyr.
Her life was a testimony to love, humility, gentleness, and fidelity to God and to the Congregation. Her death was the crown of a long journey of self-giving. Thus, she truly deserved to be called a martyr of divine love.
Today, we celebrate the opening of the Silver Jubilee Year of Sister Cecilia’s martyrdom. Let us pray together and ask for her intercession.
