Soul Care - if you’re anything like me you struggle with the whole “self care” trend, because if I make myself a priority that would make me selfish, right? Well I looked at how Jesus did self care and I think you’ll find it helpful. Jesus wants to pour into you, so you have more to pour back out to those who need the best of you.

How do you do soul care?

“Come to me all you who are weary and I will give you rest.” ~Jesus

It was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us. We don’t have to get it all together before we come to God. We can come with all of our messes and brokenness and ask Him to put us back together and clothe us in His righteousness.

In fact, this is a prayer He delights in.

Come as you are.

Jesus thinks you’re to die for.

For real though.

Without His death on the cross, our sins would’ve been written in permanent marker. No way to erase them.

But through repentance, they can be easily wiped off the board. Because of His great love for us, He died so that we could truly live - Live free of sin, free of bo***ge, free of shame.

We are free to live under grace. Repentance gives us the way to redemption.

Are you living free?

Dying to Live - We were all born with a heart defect, a sin disorder. We have a fleshy inclination to satisfy our selfish and sinful desires. When Jesus died for our sins, He made a full and abundant life available to us. He offered a heart transplant to anyone who would believe.

He died so we could live.

Freely. Fully. Abundantly.

Humility is a mark of maturity. We don’t aways have to respond to criticism and opposition. Sometimes what we don’t say holds the most power. When Mary entered the room with her alabaster box of costly perfume, the disciples scoffed at her and accused her of being wasteful; but Jesus spoke for her. He fought her battle. I want my life to be so fragrant to Jesus that He speaks on my behalf and silences my critics.

The Donkey Mentality - As we approach Easter, let’s deep dive into the significance of HOW Jesus approached Jerusalem. There is much to be learned from how He approached conflict and opposition. He entered Jerusalem and faced His accusers on a donkey; a symbol of peace and humility. Learn how the Donkey Mentality can apply to your own life.

Who are you allowing to give you guidance?
Will you ask God to let you hear His voice more clearly?

We must learn to to sharpen our discernment and learn to shut out other voices so we can tune into the voice of the Holy Spirit.

“Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go”, whether to the right or to the left.” Isaiah 30:21

What if we all had our own personal Spotter like a NASCAR driver does? Someone with an aerial view of our lives telling us when to slow down or warning of danger ahead. As children of God we do. We’ve been given the Holy Spirit as our counselor, comforter, advocate and friend. But the “world” doesn’t know Him, so don’t follow the world. Some of the voices that we put our trust in have a very short-sighted view of our lives. Don’t let the wrong voices disrupt your frequency with the Holy Spirit. Jesus knows the beginning from the end. ~

NASCAR is back! I love racing and there’s a great lesson here in how it relates to our lives. It’s time to learn to trust the voice of our Spotter. Jesus wants to be in constant communication with us but we have to take time to remain in His presence and give Him the opportunity to respond.

“My sheep listen to my voice, I know them and they follow me.” John 10:27

Grace is a free gift - it is God’s undeserved favour to us. We cannot manufacture or reproduce it, we can only receive it and then share it.

Where do you need to give yourself a grace period?

Who do you need to offer Grace to?

In a vision, Jesus gave Paul this same response 3 times. Through every thorn in your flesh, every disruption and every ache in your heart, the Lord wants you to hear this. To really hear it. To hide it away deep in your heart. His power is at work in you, and it works best in your weakness when we look to Him.

Believe it. Receive it.
