We have postponed the start date to November 21st.

Spirit of Change MCC is facilitating a 9-week Book Study and Journey Group!
Sunday evenings from 7pm-9pm on Zoom.
The group will run for five weeks from November 21 - December 19th and then resume in January for the final four weeks starting on the 9th.
About the Journey Group:
The purpose of a Journey Group is to provide a space where we can listen receptively to each other. Prior to joining, each participant will be asked to agree to a group covenant. The purpose of the covenant is to state our common purpose and to provide structure and freedom for each participant to explore and share if they desire. Sharing is optional and no one will be pressured to participate. The covenant provides a safe container where one can speak and know they won’t be interrupted, questioned, given advice or criticized.
Our meetings will be guided by the exercises in the book. Each week we will cover a new chapter. Participants will be expected to agree to reading the assigned chapter of the book each week and doing the exercises provided in that chapter. We will meet as a group to discuss what we have discovered about ourselves through this exploration. Participants are encouraged to let the spirit guide them and to use what resonates and leave the rest.
About the book:
“Healing Spiritual Wounds: Reconnecting with a Loving God After Experiencing a Hurtful Church” by Carol Howard Merritt
The book is available for purchase online and is available in Kindle format.
Available on Amazon Kindle and paperback:

About the facilitators:

Happy Trans Day of Visibility. We are your neighbours, your siblings, friends and lovers. We are pastors, business people, doctor’s, nurses, educators, police officers, students. We are who we dream to be. We see you. We love you. We celebrate you.

Welcome to The Spirit of Change MCC page. Together we are building a community for people who are spiritually fluid and curious. While Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) is a Christian denomination, we at Spirit of Change believe in welcoming all people from all spiritual experiences. It is up to you to decide what you believe. We come together to create rituals, celebrations and connections that are meaningful. We intentionally celebrate breaking of bread while drawing wisdom from many spiritual paths.

It is my intention to post reflections each week that are intended to draw you into the realm of curiosity, creativity and connection with yourself, others and spirit.

Stay tuned for our spiritual community gatherings online.

May you continue to be a blessing.

Rev. Andrew Holmes
