Dear Church family, family and friends
Greetings and Happy New Year to you all.
With so much of chaos and uncertainty around the world, we may not know what 2026 holds, but what we do know is that God is in control and He watches over His Word to perform it.
1Thessalonians 5:16-18, a powerful instruction from the Apostle Paul to live a life of constant joy, prayer, and thankfulness to God, grounded not in feelings but in faith, even during difficult times, as it's God's will for us to give Him thanks in everything in Christ Jesus. One may say how can we rejoice when our eyes are full of tears.
Rebekah Nolt in her poem said “The will of God will never take you, where the grace of God cannot keep you. Where the arms of God cannot support you, where the riches of God cannot supply your needs, where the power of God cannot endow you”.
God is real no matter what. My prayer for us all is to: Find joy in God's presence and promises, not just happy events; it's a steadfast state of the heart. Maintain a continuous, conscious connection with God through prayer, talking to Him throughout the day, bringing every concern to Him and Develop an attitude of gratitude, seeing God's purpose and opportunities for growth even in trials, not just blessings. Faithful is He if we are faithful.
Let’s Dismiss FEAR and enter 2026 with the eyes of FAITH, for we know whom we have believed, and are persuaded that he is well able to keep that which He has promised. Let’s declare in faith that God LOVES US and His plans for us, our families, and our church are good.
To some 2025 may have been a difficult year as it was for me. It could have been any number of reasons such as family problems, sickness, job losses or let down by friends, emotional struggles such as a loss of a loved one and there is an empty place in your heart this evening! I am sure, that we could all say that there were some happy times and sad times, in this past year, and there were some trying, testing and difficult days as well. The good news for us this evening is that we have a new beginning as we know that “God is the Beginning and the End”.
May we all return to our First Love giving Him first place in our lives, in our homes and in our Church. My prayer is that we walk humbly before our Mighty God and let us decrease and Jesus increases in all of our lives in 2026 and may the Lord grant us all the desires of our heart. We love you and appreciate you and also thank you for all the support extended to URCMI during the past year. We are asking God to cover you under His Precious Blood, and keep you all in good health for health is wealth and may God use you to be a soul winner for Jesus in 2026 in a way that He has never done before.
The Assistant Pastors, the Leadership and the Board of Directors join me in Wishing You all a Blessed, Prosperous, Healthy and Joyous “2026”
Yours in the Service of the Lord
