Potter's House of Toronto

Potter's House of Toronto We exist to honour God by making authentic Christ followers, by teaching & living the Word of God. Welcome to POTTER’S HOUSE OF TORONTO!

POTTER’S HOUSE OF TORONTO is a non-denominational and independent church which is considered as the daughter church of POTTER’S HOUSE OF CAMDENTON. We are also affiliated with our sister churches - POTTER’S HOUSE OF ARABIA and POTTER’S HOUSE OF EUROPE. We are not affiliated or connected with other churches with the same name. Through prayer and God's leading, we have responded to the call to make

disciples and plant this church in the midst of pandemic of 2020 at Toronto, Ontario CA. By God’s grace, we will have local Elders to shepherd His flock and Deacons to serve. We believe this is the most biblical church model as stated in Acts 14:23, Acts 20: 17, 28, Titus 1: 5-9, and 1 Peter 5: 2,3. At PHT, you'll find many opportunities to grow as an authentic follower of Jesus, build Christ-centered relationships, and serve others using your gifts and talents. Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 9:30 A.M. (EST) at 1320 Ellesmere Rd (Unit 5), Scarborough, Ontario. Our worship service is also livestreamed on our page and posted on our YouTube page. Our Sunday ministry includes programs for children and students, as well as Life Groups.

We invite you to join us as we worship our great God and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to meet you! In Christ Alone,
Pastor Jeffrey Marquez

We’re wrapping up our series on the Book of Romans called “Romans: The Gospel of God’s Grace” with Pastor Jeff Marquez’s message on Romans 16: 17-27 and how we can come to be fully established thru the teachings of God’s Gospel.

We are provided with a pastoral warning to guard the Gospel against divisive people. We need to guard against people who teach wrong theology and spend time in studying God’s word. We should be discerning in listening and studying God’s word, as some people can cause this division. If we happen to meet such people, we need to mark and avoid them, and trust God’s promise to crush Satan under our feet. The God of peace will triumph and He will use His people (who are established in His truth) to fulfill His purposes.

Each and every one of us matters (and has the same level of importance) in the body of Christ, so it is important to establish and maintain a relationship. Personal greetings within the body of Christ underscore the importance of personal relationship. We cannot live as lone ranger Christians. We must continuously encourage and be there for one another. Fellowship with one another is a must within the body of Christ.

When we truly understand what Christ has done for us, we need to worship Him. We cannot outgrow God’s Gospel. The more we understand it, the more we will praise Him. Jesus deserves our praise, as He is able to strengthen us. By the grace of God, we are saved, we have hope and we live. The Gospel of God’s Grace is not only for conversion, but it is also for daily strength. The Lord saved us for His purpose, He sustains us for His purpose and His purpose is for us to live in obedience of faith.

This week, our penultimate message on our series “Romans: The Gospel of God’s Grace” is focused on Romans 16: 1-16. Pastor Jeff Maquez looks into the characteristics of the different people that work together for the Gospel.

We are reminded that no matter what your background or personality is, there is no such thing as an ordinary person for the use of God. Have you ever felt invisible to the church. This is the enemy telling us that we are not important. We need to remember that the Gospel always advances through ordinary people working together faithfully. The Gospel transforms us (and transforms the church) in the areas of servanthood, friendship, family and love.

The church grows when people serve. There is a sense of belonging when serve the church. Christ Himself became a servant so if He was willing to serve, it should be the same for us. God’s Gospel reshapes our ambition. When we mature spiritually, we don’t mind serving other people. Our Christian maturity is not measured by what we know. The church is strongest when every believer stops consuming and starts serving, faithfully using their gifts for the glory of God and the good of others.

The Gospel grows through relationships, and not by isolation. Developing friendships and appreciation for people is a must for a strong church. We need to value each other as Christ looks out for us. The Gospel ministry is not an individual pursuit; it is a shared labor among the people of God. We cannot fulfill God’s mission while disconnected from God’s people.

The Gospel needs every generation and every background. We are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household. We are to lift God’s message as an open group of individuals and to be united like a family of different backgrounds and lifestyles that belong together and are united by fate.

We are to love one another. Kindness, affection and warmth should be shown to others. A loving church becomes a powerful witness to a lonely world. People are looking for genuine connection and authentic love. People may forget the sermon title, but they rarely forget how the church made them feel. We must become the kind of person that the gospel creates and helps build the church God intends.
