To whom do we entrust our hearts?
Sometimes I worry about the prayer life of God’s children. We have this wonderful opportunity to tell God everything. So why don’t we utilise it?
We talk to others and tell them what we do not like, what upsets us, what worries us, and what frightens us. We talk with our neighbours, our friends, and our colleagues. And I must always ask the question, “Have you told God yet?” Of course, if we have a problem, we come to God and say, “Dear God, please help!"
But when we are upset—when we are angry—do we tell God as well, or only our neighbour? That is just one example. Dear brothers and sisters, let us tell God everything that is in our hearts. He already knows it, even without us telling Him about it. Yet when we bring these things to Him in prayer and truly speak with Him, we show how important it is to us to communicate with Him, and to know what He thinks and how He sees things.
When we are truly angry, we tell our neighbour because we need to get it out of our system. But we don’t speak to God about it because we know that He does not think like us, that He sees things differently. So, we do not necessarily want to hear what God thinks about it. That is why we do not speak to Him. However, it should be important to us to always know what God thinks and how He sees things. Let us give Him the opportunity to share His point of view with us.
