Sunday concluded the series “The Waiting Room.” He spoke on why God makes us wait.
Isaiah 40:30-31 teaches that even the strongest people eventually reach the limits of their own strength.
Youths grow weary.
Young men grow tired.
They stumble.
They fall.
The progression is clear:
Weary = depleted strength.
Tired = diminished performance.
Isaiah’s point is that human strength eventually runs out.
That’s why the promise isn’t that those who wait on the Lord receive a new opportunity. The promise is that they renew their strength.
God allows our strength to run out so His strength can take over.
Youth is not the answer. Talent is not the answer. Discipline is not the answer. Human strength eventually fails. But those who wait on the Lord exchange their strength for His.”
