Toronto Mahavihara Theravada Buddhist Temple maintained by Toronto Mahavihara Society

Established in 1978, and located on the edge of the picturesque Rouge Valley, Toronto Maha Vihara today is not only an outstanding landmark, but also a monument to the vision and conviction of the early pioneers of the Sri Lankan expatriate Buddhist community in the Greater Toronto Area. It is the first Theravada Buddhist Temple in Canada and is administered by Toronto Mahavihara Society, a registered Charity Organization.

Special Blessing Ceremony at the Toronto Maha Vihara

A meritorious deed of restoring and re‑enshrining the outdoor Buddha statue at the temple, followed by a Buddha Pooja to invoke blessings on children for success in the new school academic year.

Sunday, 6th September 2026, 5:00 PM

Parents are kindly requested to bring flowers, gilapasa, candles, and other offerings for the Buddha Pooja.
