The Pride flag flies brightly at the entrance to Tobermory United Church. It will remain there for the month of June, a visual symbol of what Jan MacDonald's hand-painted sign already says: "All Are Welcome in This Place." Our Pride service, June 7, 10:30 a.m., features the song, "An Ocean of Love," written and arranged by Mary-Ellen Kish and Gwen Chapman and sung by Pat Neuwelt, Michael Rouse, Peter van Ryn and Rev. Sheryl.

"Wow!" That was the most common response on May 24th, when Tobermory United received the final set of altar decorations created by Jo Lane as the result of a bequest from Jan MacDonald. This set represents the fire and wind associated with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. So much gratitude for these gorgeous works of art.

And we are so thankful to Jim's BBQ! Supplying delicious chicken for a Tobermory tradition for 53 years! And huge thanks to all the volunteers who work so hard for this event. They make the creation and distribution of 400 chicken dinners look easy!

This Sunday, May 3, 10:30 a.m., we celebrate Mental Health Sunday, with guest speakers Martha Aitkin, psychotherapist, and Dr. David Morrison, psychiatrist. Guest musicians are Janet Whittington and Robert Franklin, offering tunes by Carole King, Bob Dylan and more! Mental Health Sunday is part of the United Church of Canada's effort to create communities of radical belonging for all people, including those living with mental-health challenges.
