Have you ever wondered what you can do to make the workplace more accessible?

Here are some tips:
- Ensure safe passageway with permanent ramps.
- Improve outdoor access with accessible parking spaces and curb cuts.
- Remove obstacles from hallways, meeting and work areas.
- Ensure main entrances and doorways are wide enough.
- Make stairs safer by adding texture strips and/or having fewer steps.
- Use large print and images on signs for washrooms, doors and stairways.

The Veteran Homelessness Program supports veterans experiencing various levels of homelessness. The Service Navigator helps participants to navigate Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) services and provides guidance on program directives.

This program is looking to help veterans achieve stable housing, improved well-being, and long-term independence.

- Change your address or phone number.
- Don’t understand what services or items are eligible for Passport funding.
- Need help planning how to use your funding.
- Want to know how much funds you have available to use.
- Need help filing a claim for reimbursement.
- Want to change how the funds are being administered (for example, change to Person Managing Funds).

We’re pleased to share that the Northwest Regional HSJCC’s FASD Justice System Working Group, in collaboration with the Provincial Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee (P-HSJCC), is launching a multi-part Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Education Webinar Series, beginning with an FASD 101 webinar on October 7th, 2026.

Aligned with the P-HSJCC’s efforts to advance FASD awareness and education across Ontario, the series will explore FASD across the lifespan, including the experiences and systemic barriers individuals with FASD may encounter when navigating education, health, social and justice systems.

The series is intended to provide service providers, justice and education professionals, and cross-sector partners with practical knowledge, resources, and strategies to strengthen FASD-informed and person-centred practice. Sessions will feature presentations from professionals and subject-matter experts, case studies, relevant resources, and opportunities for Q&A.

Through the series, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of FASD and consider how systems and services can better respond to the needs of individuals with FASD, particularly those who interact with the justice system.

We encourage you all to register for the FASD 101 webinar and share this opportunity with colleagues and partners who may be interested.
