We believe that God has a vision for our city: that the followers of Jesus would join God in his work to see all people reconciled to God, to themselves, to each other, and to the earth. We know that this begins with a relationship with Jesus, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and God’s heart to see all people thriving and growing. When this happens, Northwestern Ontario will be transformed; a pocket of Heaven on Earth.

Recently, a team from Redwood had the opportunity to partner with our friends at Missibay Community school in Mishkeegogamang to build one of four greenhouses that will both provide fresh produce and give the 7th Grade class the chance to get hands-on with the process.

For this initial trial phase, students will be experimenting with growing lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and even strawberries—participating in the full lifecycle of planting, tending, and harvesting!

What do you do when your back is against the wall and your faith wavers? In Psalm 34, we find King David -- the giant-slayer, the fearless warrior -- drooling on his beard to escape an enemy king. Not exactly his finest moment. Yet, that strange, shaky episode became the inspiration for a beautiful declarations of praise.

The truth that David discovered and that we explored together this past Sunday is that God's response to our lack of trust is faithfulness. Not disappointment. Not abandonment. Faithfulness. As 2 Timothy reminds us, even when we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.

Whatever you are carrying today -- doubt, fear, a moment you are not proud of -- the invitation of Psalm 34 is to lift your head. When we look to him, we are not ashamed.

This design for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation provided by the Government of Canada honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, Survivors, their families and communities. Read on to learn more about what the image represents...

"In the centre are three symbols: a feather, a narwhal, and a flower. Each symbol represents the distinct cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, brought together in a circular flowing composition to reflect the connection between the groups.

Above the central elements, stars surrounding the moon honour the children who never returned home from residential schools and symbolize their enduring place in our thoughts and memory. The dotted patterns evoke beadwork and reflect the importance of passing down art, culture and traditions from one generation to the next.

Flowing lines connect the elements of the design, reflecting the connections between land, water, communities and generations. Their winding path represents the journey of reconciliation and reminds us that reconciliation is an ongoing process.

The colour orange represents remembrance and the enduring message that every child matters."

We join in prayer and action for the fullness of truth and reconciliation to prevail.

Have you ever been betrayed? Most of us have. And if we are honest, most of us have also been the betrayer. In Psalm 52, David pours out his heart to God after a deeply painful betrayal, and in doing so, he shows us what a praying life can look like.

David was far from perfect. He lied. He compromised. He let self-preservation override his trust in God. Yet he remained a man after God's own heart because he kept bringing it all back to the Lord.

The same God who forgave David and called him his own is the God who meets you today. No betrayal - yours or someone else's - is beyond his mercy. "But I am like an olive tree, flourishing in the house of God. I trust in God's unfailing love forever and ever." (Psalm 52:8)

Bring it all to him. He can handle it.
