Thunder Bay SERVE

Thunder Bay SERVE Located in Northwestern Ontario, Thunder Bay rests on the shore of beautiful Lake Superior. We, as the host team, are excited to be hosting Thunder Bay SERVE!

Our host team is formed from volunteers of the Christian Reformed Churches in Thunder Bay. The date to mark is July 12-19, 2014! SERVE teams will be staying in the Thunder Bay Christian School. Our goal is for the participants of serve to grow in their faith, meet other young Christians, have an impact on the community, worship the Lord, and have an experience that they will never forget. During t

he time that the teams will be staying in Thunder Bay they will be helping out with a variety of jobs and tasks that need to be taken care of within the Thunder Bay community. There will be opportunities to help out at the local thrift stores, Habitat For Humanity, Shelter House, Thunder Bay Christian Community Center, and other jobs that members of the community will bring forward to be assisted with. Participants will be staying at the Thunder Bay Christian School. There are showers on site and there is a gym and outdoor space for games and/or activities. On the day away we will go tubing down the Kaministiqua River, if weather permits. A beach and volleyball net are located there as well. We anticipate what our Lord can do through us! We welcome you to Thunder Bay!

Day Away!
We ventured out to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park where half our group Biked and Hiked over 22km to the check out the views from the top of the giant.
The rest of the group hiked 1km to see the “Sea Lion”, hung out at the beach, got ice cream from the Silver Islet General Store - which has been around since 1871, and we checked out the Thunder Bay Lookout. The bike and hikers met us back at the beach for a hotdog roast, evening worship and small groups. Overall, an amazing day with amazing weather!
