When you think of Pleasantview, you think of Randy. For an incredible 43 years, Randy has been a part of our Property Team, helping shape Pleasantview into the place it is today. It's safe to say that Randy is a legend around the grounds.

When he's not keeping Pleasantview looking its best, you'll find him hunting, fishing, and most importantly, being a proud grandpa. Whether it's hockey, dance, or figure skating, he's always there supporting his grandkids from the sidelines.

Known for his practical jokes, hardworking nature, and willingness to lend a hand, Randy is truly the glue that holds this place together. His dedication, sense of humour, and friendly presence have left a lasting impact on both staff and families alike.

Fun Fact about Randy is that he's our longest-tenured employee and has been here longer than our mausoleums!

Maria has been a Licensed Cemetery & Funeral Preplanner for 13 years, dedicating her career to helping families navigate important decisions with care, compassion, and professionalism.

Outside of work, Maria’s life revolves around the people and things she loves most—her family and her pets. A true animal lover, she has a special place in her heart for all animals and is dedicated to celebrating the bond people share with their beloved companions. In fact, one of her most meaningful community initiatives is organizing an annual Pet Memorial Walk, which brings people together to honor and remember cherished pets (Taking place September 13th, 2026). She also loves tending to her plants and vegetable garden, finding joy in watching things grow.

Proud of her Italian heritage, Maria enjoys cooking and baking for family and friends, bringing people together through delicious homemade meals and treats. She is also an active member of the PC Bocce Club, where she plays on a women’s league, and the Italian Canadian Cultural Centre, where she volunteers her time, assists with banquets, and supports community events whenever needed.

Whether she’s helping families, spending time with loved ones, caring for her garden, or giving back to her community, Maria brings warmth, kindness, and a genuine love of people to everything she does.

Losing a loved one for the first time can be one of life's most difficult and unfamiliar experiences.

Grief can bring many emotions, from sadness and shock to confusion, numbness, or even moments of peace. However you're feeling, it's important to remember that there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Give yourself permission to take things one day at a time, lean on those who care about you, and be patient with yourself as you navigate your loss.

Healing doesn't mean forgetting. It means learning to carry the love and memories forward in a new way.
