Daniel 3:14-18
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

As we wait on the Lord and serve Him in faith we can be assured that He is our protector. This is our confidence. He is able to keep us and watch over us. We do not need to trust in ourselves, we can trust in His strength alone.

Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Persist, don’t give up on the will of God for your life. Stay in faith. It’s not the amount of faith you have; it's how patient and persistent you are in never giving up on the will of God. Strength to accomplish a task is critical but endurance will determine the final outcome.
Endurance in the spirit is gained by the spiritual exercise of prayer. Endurance is the ability to work through hardships and keep the end goal in focus.
Notice the word end is in “Endurance”. Satan will try to knock you off your path, he will send messages and messengers to buffet you. To endure and stay in faith is the test that will come to all of us in different ways during the faith journey. Do everything in light of eternity. Keep eternity in your focus and you will make the right decision every time. We will be tested to the end of the faith journey as we wait for the return of Jesus or until he calls us home.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Waiting in faith is the hardest life lesson the Lord will ever teach us. The hardest part of waiting is not fully knowing the outcome or end result. The waiting period is when we as people, can lose faith. We can become impatient in the waiting and begin to seek gratification in the moment. If we remain open to God while we wait, He will teach us valuable lessons about trusting Him. This is not only benefits us but those around us.
The discipline of waiting is hard. This is a valuable characteristic for our lives that is very difficult to cultivate. Waiting requires us to die to ourselves and to learn to trust in God's plan that we cannot see. Waiting is not something that most individuals willingly sign-up for. Waiting goes against our natural human character and is hard to master. If we submit to God, He will speak to us while we wait on Him in faith.
Waiting in faith is an act or expression of your love for the Lord. It is the highest form of trust that you can ever exhibit.
Understand that you are the beloved of God. When God is putting you in the position of waiting remember you are loved by Him. He has your best interest in mind.
