In today’s Gospel for the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus looks out at the crowds and is moved with deep compassion. He sees people who are weary, distressed, and searching—feeling like sheep without a shepherd.

His reaction isn't to look away or judge; it’s to call His disciples together and send them out to bring healing, hope, and peace.

Christ still looks at our world—and our local communities—with that exact same deep compassion today. And He is still calling laborers into the field. You don’t need a grand platform to answer that call. Being a ""laborer for the harvest"" can be as simple as:

Checking in on a neighbor who is going through a difficult season.

Offering a word of genuine encouragement to a coworker.

Pausing to listen to someone who just needs to be heard.

Bringing your own weariness to the Lord in prayer today, trusting that He cares for you.

How is God calling you to share His love and be an instrument of His peace this week?

Today we are reminded that prayer is not meant to be complicated or distant—it is a simple conversation with God.

In every moment of the day, we can turn our hearts toward Him: in gratitude, in struggle, in hope, and in silence. God is always near, always listening, always ready to meet us where we are.

Take a few moments today to speak with Him honestly and openly.
