HISTORY of the Surrey Methodist Community Church (SMCC):

SMCC is an independent church that was established on October 17, 2010 and named the Fiji Methodist United Church. In March 2016, the church celebrates new beginnings with a new name - Surrey Methodist Community Church. The new name is inclusive and welcoming of all people in the community. In the beginning, the church consisted of 6 member

s who had a vision to "strive no harm, to do good and staying in love with God". The first anniversary of the church was celebrated on October 22, 2011 at the Surrey Free Methodist Church. The original Mission Statement of the church: "Christians who share the love of God through Christ, in hope of everlastlng life. We will provide opportunities for others and ourselves to know and worship God. Many people have been involved with the church since its inception. Those contributions do not go unrecognized and have assisted the church in evolving to what and where it is today. The current Board is made up of 6 members who are dedicated to overseeing the mandate of the SMCC and serving its members. The Board is working diligently to update the Constitution of the church and have reviewed and updated the policies and procedures and will continue to work on many other exciting initiatives. Service is held on Sundays at 4:00 pm and is offered in English and with hymn songs in English/Fijian. Women's Fellowship meetings are Wednesdays @ 7:30 pm (email for location)

Men's Fellowship meetings are Fridays @ 7:30 pm (email for location)

The Sunday School program was implemented in January, 2016. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
