Have you been struggling to forgive those who have hurt or offended you? If so, it's time to forgive and it might be time to reconcile.
Unforgiveness doesn't hurt them; it hurts you. Unforgiveness is drinking poison and expecting someone else to get sick.
We're in the middle of what sociologists are calling an "Estrangement Epidemic," with 1 in 4 adults estranged from a close family member. We've become experts on demolishing relationships while being amateurs at cultivating and sustaining long-lasting, resilient relationships.
Forgiveness is a duet between you and God. Forgiveness is "release."
Reconciliation is minimally a trio between you, God, and someone else. You can always forgive; reconciliation, however, requires someone else to choose to join you at the table.
