Spiritual growth is never accidental. God calls every believer to move beyond spiritual infancy and continue growing in Christ through His Word, obedience, and faithful dependence on Him.

As we reflected on Hebrews 5:12, we were reminded that there is no such thing as a stagnant Christian life. We are either growing in Christlikeness or drifting away from the maturity God desires for us. Every step of obedience is an opportunity to become more like Jesus.

Take a moment to revisit today's sermon notes and be encouraged to pursue a life of continual growth in Christ.

What does spiritual growth actually look like?

It’s easy to mistake familiarity with church for maturity in faith. We can hear sermons, know the right verses, and go to church for years, yet still struggle to let God’s Word shape the way we think, choose, and live.

Hebrews 5:12 challenges us to examine whether we are truly growing. God does not call us to remain spiritually immature. He calls us to know His truth, live it out, and grow in our understanding of Him.

Ang paglago sa pananampalataya ay hindi nangyayari sa pamamagitan lamang ng pagdami ng ating kaalaman tungkol sa Diyos.

Nangyayari ito habang patuloy tayong lumalakad kasama ni Cristo at hinahayaang baguhin ng Kanyang Salita ang ating puso at pamumuhay. Hindi tayo lumalago upang maging karapat-dapat sa Kanya; lumalago tayo dahil tinanggap na tayo ni Cristo sa pamamagitan ng Kanyang biyaya.

Sa ating pag-aaral ng Hebrews 5:12, muli tayong pinaalalahanan na hindi nais ng Diyos na manatili tayong espirituwal na sanggol. Tinatawag Niya tayong lumago sa pananampalataya, sa pagkahinog ng ating pagkatao, at sa pagsunod sa Kanya upang higit nating maipakita ang Kanyang katangian sa ating araw-araw na buhay.

I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Your sanctification rests finally not on the strength of your grip on God, but on the faithfulness of His grip on you. The Father began His saving work through Christ and will carry it to completion. That promise does not make us passive; it makes us hopeful, prayerful, and persistent when growth feels slow. Grace finishes what grace begins.

Bible knowledge without obedience can become spiritual self-deception. The Word leads us to Christ, and allegiance to Christ bears fruit in action. We do not obey to earn His acceptance; because we are accepted in the Beloved, we now desire to walk in His ways. Let today’s Scripture become today’s repentance and faithful obedience.
