The Jatha follows a strict discipline in keeping the Rehit of Guru Gobind Singh Jee. They also enjoy an active style of Keertan recited by Sikhs in a collective manner in front of Sree Guru Granth Sahib Jee. This style of Keertan is relatively simple, and the entire congregation devotionally participates in singing along. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Jee embodied this lifestyle of strict persona

l discipline. He wrote many articles on Gurbaanee and the Sikh Lifestyle which we hope will inspire you as they have many of us. He was a dedicated Gursikh who fought injustice and always remained in Chardee Kalaa (high spirits).

Last September, Bhai Davinder Singh Romana Ji did Akaal Chalaanaa after a lifetime of seva and passion for Gursikhi.

In their loving memory, there will be *Akhand Kirtan Smagam on Saturday September 19* with Asa Di Vaar in the morning followed by Rainsbaaee Kirtan in the evening.

All Sangat are requested to bless us with their Darshan as we remember Bhai Davinder Singh 🙏

ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਾਰੇ ॥ ਗੁਰੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਹੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥

The Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained. If His humble servant believes, and acts according to the Words of the Guru’s Bani, then the Guru emancipates him.

With Guru Sahib’s Kirpa, the second annual Gurbani Shudh Uchaaran Competition (in loving memory of Bhai Sahib Bharpoor Singh Ji) is now complete.

Congratulations to all participants. Becoming a paathi from Lareevaar Saroop is very important. We encourage all youth to do more abhyaas of Gurbani and become fluent Akhand Paathis. Please attend weekly Santhiya class on Wednesday evenings to help build your fluency.

This upcoming Wednesday evening we are fortunate to have Bhai Jairoop Singh here from Toronto to conduct a workshop on Gurbani writing.

This workshop will occur from 6-8PM in the main Darbar hall at Khalsa School Newton.

On June 27, Akhand Kirtani Jatha BC will be holding Rainsbaaee Kirtan at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sikh Society in Port Alberni (Vancouver Island).

For those wanting to go from Surrey, there will be a bus going. Please text Japnaam Singh at 604 512 0297 to book your seat. Seats will go fast so please book your seat soon (within next 1-2 days to be safe).

To cover partial cost of the ferry, please bring $40 for adults and $20 for children under the age of 12 (round trip). Any Sangat with financial difficulty to pay for the ferry is still welcome. Please still text to reserve your seat.

The bus will be leaving from Khalsa School Newton at 11am (please be on time) on the day of the Rainsbaaee and back at 8am the following morning.

For sangat going in cars, we are going on the Tsawwassen to Duke Point Ferry with 12:45pm departure time on Saturday June 27 and 5:15am departure time on Sunday June 28 for return ferry.

Please book your seat quickly before spots fill up. 🙏

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕਾਖ਼ਾਲਸਾਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫ਼ਤਹਿ 🙏

With Guru Sahib’s Kirpa, there will be a Gurbani Shudh Uchaaran Competition on Friday August 21 at 10am at Khalsa Primary School (across the street from Khalsa School Newton) during Annual August Smagam, in loving memory of Bhai Sahib Bharpoor Singh Ji.

Participants will read from Lareevaar Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and be judged on the quality of their recitation. Competition is open for youth aged 25 and under. There will be 3 age groups: 13 and under (born 2013 or earlier), 14-18 (born 2008-2012) and 19-25 (born 2001-2007). The registration deadline is Sunday August 16. Please register at the link below.
