Sister Susan K. Bednar, issued two invitations to all LDS women... “arise and shine forth now as women of light — first, in testifying and defending the importance of families in God’s eternal plan, and second, in ministering to one another"

“To you caring and charitable sisters, let us ‘arise and shine forth as women of light’ by truly ministering with love and compassion in a higher and holier way to the sisters in our wards and branches".

"Upcoming Sunday schedules.... why the changes?"

Sunday School General President Paul V Johnson, said "while the class format is different, the amount of time is the same — 25 minutes to cover one week’s worth of “Come, Follow Me” instead of 50 minutes to cover two week’s worth....This is a time for us to focus and learn together. … It really is everybody blessing each other...The changes are meant to help members focus more on the teachings of Jesus Christ; strengthen gospel learning at home; and increase fellowship, belonging and community at church...He also emphasized that learning starts at home. Rather than asking “What did you learn at church?” a better question would be, “What did you learn at home?”

What might the Lord be preparing you for right now through your current challenges?

Moses spent 40 years leading the children of Israel to the promised land...His role wasn’t only to guide the Lord’s people through the wilderness but to prepare them to become a covenant people: to love God, obey Him, and remain loyal to Him. In the same way, we are being prepared through life’s wilderness. As we exercise faith, repent, and stay true to God, we can reach our own promised land—eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

How will you seek and rely on the Savior’s power to strengthen your family across generations today?

Here are a few simple ways to act today:

1. Receive a name for the temple using FamilySearch Ordinances Ready.
2. Add what you know to your family tree on FamilySearch.
3. Record your testimony of Jesus Christ in FamilySearch Memories.

"Covenant-keeping women with mother hearts know that whether motherhood comes early or late; whether they are blessed with a “quiver full” of children here in mortality or not; whether they are single, married, or left to carry the responsibility of parenthood alone—in holy temples they are “endowed with power from on high” (D&C 38:32), and with that endowment they receive the promised blessings and are “persuaded of them, and embraced them” (Hebrews 11:13).

Every girl and woman who makes and keeps sacred covenants can have a mother heart. There is no limit to what a woman with a mother heart can accomplish. Righteous women have changed the course of history and will continue to do so, and their influence will spread and grow exponentially throughout the eternities. How grateful ... to the Lord for trusting women with the divine mission of motherhood.

The Surrey British Columbia Stake Presidency lovingly invites all members of the Stake to attend the House of the Lord at least once during the month of May.

As we come to the temple with willing hearts, we strengthen our spiritual foundation and fortify ourselves and our families against the storms of the world. By making and keeping sacred covenants, we draw closer to the Savior and receive His promised peace and protection.

We also have the sacred privilege of serving those beyond the veil who are waiting—often with great longing—for the blessings of those same covenants. Your temple worship blesses both your family and many unseen souls who depend on your faithfulness.
