Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
My dear respected brothers, sisters, elders, and community members,
One of the greatest responsibilities entrusted to us is the care, guidance, and nurturing of our youth. The youth of today are not only the leaders of tomorrow—they are the leaders of today. If we want strong masjids, strong families, and a strong Ummah, then we must invest in our young people.
Our masjids should be places where our youth feel welcomed, loved, respected, and valued. They should feel that the House of Allah is their home, a place where they belong and where they can grow in faith, character, and leadership.
We live in a time when the distractions of this dunya are everywhere. Social media, peer pressure, and countless temptations pull our youth in different directions every day. This is why our masjids and community programs are more important than ever. We need programs that engage our youth, teach them their deen, build their confidence, develop their leadership skills, and connect them with righteous companions.
As adults, we must remember that guidance, encouragement, and reminders are not only for the youth—they are for all of us. Every one of us can lose focus. Every one of us can become distracted by the dunya. That is why Allah says in the Qur'an:
"And remind, for indeed the reminder benefits the believers." (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:55)
