Bringing stones to life through speckle flashing and hand painting.

What the heck is speckle flashing?? It's a type of sandblasting where we work with depth and soft overlapping shapes. For the photographers out there, it's kind of like dodging and burning. It has a softer feel and is more often used for landscapes than anything else. The use of colour brings a different feel than greyscale. What do you think?

This lovey-dovey custom upright really pays tribute to a heartfelt life. It's a beautiful green stone that was special ordered, it's called olive green and we love it. All the artwork was hand drawn, hand cut and then hand painted. We only hand paint artwork if requested, but we often hand cut and hand draw our artwork so our customers can pay homage to their loved ones by bringing their ideas to life. Our art is one of a kind and so is every stone, it seems fitting.

This refurbished stone is another tritone. All the extra work for a tritone is worth the end result!

A little refresher, a tritone is an artwork broken down into 3 tonal colours (white, grey and black/dark grey) instead of the more common 2 tonal colours, (white and black). What makes tritones so special is the depth and detail you add to an artwork. That's why we take so much pride in making sure that we add in all those middle greys that bring so much character and life to the original artwork.

Challenge accepted.

It's difficult to put a detailed guitar on a stone, so an 8 string electric guitar was quite the challenge. All the intricate details are hand drawn, then hand cut, then hand painted.

The music notes were from a song written by the deceased. We'd love to know what it sounds like.

This refurbished stone has tri-tone coloured artwork and needed a little extra love and affection.

If the stone was painted with only one colour all the details that you see in the mountains would be lost.
