MCNA Weekend School - White Rock unit - Hajj and Eid Workshop The White Rock Muslim Association

Alhamdulillah, we had an informative and fun MCNA workshop to help our students learn about the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), the significance of Eid ul Adha, and the importance of the blessed first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, and build their Muslim identity through our Islamic celebrations.

The program began with interactive workshops for junior and senior grades, discussing the important lessons and values connected to these special days, followed by quizzes and prizes for the students.

Afterwards, the children participated in a circuit of six engaging stations designed to help them learn through hands-on activities:
Stations included

1. Eid Shopping & Dress-Up Station : Children pretended to go to the market to buy clothes and items for Eid. They also discussed remembering giving charity to Muslims in need around the world during this blessed time .

2. Qurbani Animal Market Station
Children were given fake money to “purchase” a sacrificial animal. They learned about which animals are suitable for Qurbani and how animals should be cared for with kindness and compassion.

3. 9 th of Dhul Hijjah Day of Arafah & Hajj Station
Students learned about the Day of Arafah and what to do on this day (for people on hajj and for people not on hajj) They were also introduced to Hajj and its important steps.

4. 10th of Dhul Hajjah Eid Celebration Station
Children learned the sunnahs and etiquettes of Eid, while also understanding that Eid is a joyful celebration for Muslims.

5. Eid Bazaar Station
Students were given real money to visit the Eid bazaar station and choose gifts, helping them experience the excitement and joy associated with Eid preparations.

6. Craft and card Station
Children made special Eid Mubarak cards for their parents as well as a Takbeerat car hanger which they can use to recite the takbeerat on the way to Eid, inshaAllah.

MCNA Vancouver Sunday May 18, 2026 School Update ⭐

Alhamdulillah, another wonderful week of learning — here's what our students have been up to!

This week some of our students explored the beautiful quality of Truthfulness and Honesty in Islam! They completed a fun hands-on activity, sorting actions into Honest and Dishonest columns. Such important values for our little ones to grow up with! Ma sha Allah!

They also got a brief introduction to the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah 🕋, followed by a fun Hajj-themed word search — finding words like Makkah, Zamzam, Kaabah, Safa, Marwa and more!

Other students dove into the inspiring story of Prophet Musa (AS), working through worksheets and word search activities to reinforce what they learned.

And in a highlight of the day — students covered the topic of Hajj in detail, including watching a video to bring this incredible pillar of Islam to life! They followed up with worksheets to consolidate their learning. Ma sha Allah, what a meaningful lesson!

🌟 *MCNA Vancouver Sunday May 10, 2026 School Update* 🌟

Alhamdulillah, another wonderful week of learning — here's what our students have been up to! 📚

Students dove into powerful themes of friendship in Islam through a beautiful collaborative activity — the "Friendship Flower" chart! 🌸 Each student contributed qualities of a good friend, together building a full chart distinguishing:
✅ Good Friends
⚠️ Shaitan — not our friend!
💛 Allah — our BEST friend!

They also had a rich discussion on hadith about backbiting and slander. Ma sha Allah some deep thinking!

Students covered the nature of Angels, Jinns, and Humans — naming key angels and their roles on a worksheet. 👼

They then learned about Shaitan and his cycle of actions. Students are encouraged to complete the *Cycle of Shaitan's Actions* activity at home! 🏠

We also had an important discussion on:
🕌 Sajdah Sahw
✈️ Salatul Qasar
🌑 Salatul Kusoof
🤲 Dua-e-Istikhara

Our younger students have been busy too — working on Prophet Yunus (AS) coloring activities and Prayer Times*flower diagrams, learning about the five daily prayers and what the sky looks like at each prayer time. Ma sha Allah, such beautiful and thoughtful work!

TWO posts in one week (5 minutes xD)?! 🤯 Yes, you read that right. We are ON A ROLL and absolutely no one can stop us now. 💪💪 We have an Earth Day post coming that we absolutely, definitely, 100% will not be late on - in sha Allah.

Here's what our amazing students got up to this past Sunday, April 19, 2026! ✨

👶 KG: Our littlest learners dove into the story of Prophet Sulaiman (AS) — always a favourite!

📖 Grade 4: Students led their own revision session ahead of their quiz AND got an introduction to Surah Quraysh, complete with a fun Arabic vocabulary activity. Love to see them taking charge of their learning!

📝 Grade 5: Focused and diligent — theory and quiz day done and dusted!

🌟 Grade 6: MashaAllah — what a packed day! Sister Tasleem's class created beautiful Lapbooks on Surah Az-Zalzalah, exploring its translation, lessons learned, and how we can prepare ourselves for the Day of Judgement. And THEN — they turned around and delivered a wonderful presentation on Prophet Dawud (AS) to Grade 3! 🤩

✨ What a beautiful Sunday April 5, 2026 at MCNA Weekend School! ✨

Okay okay, we know — April 5th was a WHILE ago. 😅 In our defence, we were going to post sooner, but someone (not naming names, it's me hi who was the problem hi) decided we needed to put emoji stickers on everyone's faces in the photos first. Do you have any idea how long that takes?! We're still recovering. 🫠

ANYWAY. Better late than never — here's what went down!

Alhamdulillah, it was truly a special day! Our students came dressed in their most beautiful festive attire to celebrate Eid together — and MashaAllah, they looked absolutely wonderful! 🥰

Highlights of the day:
🌟 Students wowed everyone with their presentations on the Messengers of Islam — MashaAllah, the effort and dedication truly showed!
🎉 Students shared duas, nasheeds, and surahs they've been working on — so proud of each and every one of them!
🎮 Fun and games rounded out the day, keeping the energy high and the smiles even higher!

A heartfelt Jazakallah Khair to our amazing teachers — Sisters Ayesha, Gul, Aayza, Amanaah, and Tasleem — and all the wonderful volunteers who made the day run so smoothly. 💛

A very special thank you to Sisters Shaiwah and Tayyaba for coming out to support the team — your presence meant so much! 🤲

To this entire team — May Allah put barakah in your homes and reward you abundantly for everything you do for our children. Ameen! ♥️

MCNA White Rock-
Alhamdulillah, it was a joyful return to class for all our students at MCNA White Rock!

Our Kindergarten to Grade 7 classes spent the day reconnecting, sharing their Ramadan & Eid experiences, and engaging in meaningful learning and fun activities. From reviewing surahs, duas, and the 5 Pillars of Islam, to reflecting on important lessons and stories, students strengthened both their knowledge and their connection to their faith.

The day was filled with creativity through Eid crafts, games, and group activities that brought smiles and laughter all around. We also spoke about the sunnahs of Eid and the importance of carrying the blessings and lessons of Ramadan forward.

We wrapped up with a well-deserved Eid celebration—pizza, treats, and lots of happy moments together! 🍕🍪

May Allah SWT continue to bless our students with knowledge, iman, and joy. Ameen
