LIVE NOW | One Humanity: Losing the Measuring Stick
Are you constantly measuring how well you're doing, even in your relationship with God?
We measure success, compare ourselves with others, and sometimes carry that same pressure into our Christian faith. Am I praying enough? Am I growing fast enough? Shouldn't I be further along by now?
This week on Between the Shores, we explore Romans 5 and how Jesus is restoring humanity to the life God intended. From Adam's choice in the garden to Jesus' obedience, death, and resurrection, Paul reveals the extraordinary reach of God's grace and the new life available through Christ.
Together we explore:• Why we feel the need to measure our worth and prove ourselves• Adam and Jesus in Romans 5 and the story of humanity• How sin, shame, fear, and hiding entered the human story• Romans 5:8 and God's love for us before we had anything to offer• What it means to have peace with God through Jesus• Paul's powerful phrase, “How much more,” and the abundance of God's grace• Learning to trust God's love through suffering and uncertainty• How Jesus is creating one new humanity• Living with forgiveness, compassion, and love without keeping score
Jesus knows every part of our story, including the places where we feel inadequate or unfinished. His love has already reached us there.
What might change if we finally put down the measuring stick and began living from the love we've already received?
