This Sunday night we’re getting together with Summerland Baptist Church and Julia Street Community Church for an evening of prayer and worship.

After everything our community has been through over the last few weeks, we want to take some time to worship the Lord together and pray for Summerland - for those who have lost homes or been affected by the fire, for our firefighters and first responders, and for our neighbours and community as we continue to move forward.

It’s been really encouraging to see churches and people across Summerland come together through all of this, and we’re looking forward to being together again Sunday night.

We’re back in Summerland this Sunday Morning!

We’re so thankful that many in our community have now been able to return home, including those in the downtown area. And with that, we’re grateful to let you know that we’ll be returning to our regular gathering place and regular time this Sunday!

Sunday at 10 AM
Summerland Community Centre

After the last couple of weeks, we’re especially looking forward to being back together in Summerland, worshipping together and continuing our study through 1 Peter.

There are just a couple of things to be aware of:

Kids Church is back!
Our regular Kids Church ministry will be available again this Sunday.

Coffee is still on!
Because the boil water notice is still in effect, we’ll be bringing in safe drinking water for our coffee this Sunday.

We are so grateful to Penticton Alliance Church for opening their doors to us and giving us a place to gather while we were displaced. And now, we’re incredibly thankful to be able to gather together back home in Summerland again.

We can’t wait to see you Sunday at 10 AM!

WE’RE GATHERING THIS SUNDAY

Until we are able to return home to Summerland, Penticton Alliance Church has graciously opened their doors to us, giving us a place to gather together as a church family.

Beginning this Sunday, we’ll be gathering from 6–8 PM at Penticton Alliance Church for worship, prayer, fellowship, and the teaching of God’s Word through 1 Peter.

In 1 Peter 2:11, Peter calls believers “sojourners and pilgrims.” We are people who know that this world is not our home, and people who know where our true home is.

And Peter reminds us that the home we are headed toward is secure: an inheritance “incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.” (1 Peter 1:4)

Given everything we’re walking through right now, we can’t think of a more timely book to open together.

There will not be regular kids ministry during these evening gatherings, but children are absolutely welcome to join us in the service. A nursery will also be available for nursing moms and infants.

Let’s Gather Tonight.

After a heartbreaking weekend for our community, we want to take time tonight for us to come together as a family to worship and pray

With our community displaced and our normal gathering place unavailable, Penticton Alliance Church has graciously opened their doors and offered us a space to gather.

Tonight from 6–8 PM, we’re inviting our church family, and anyone else who would like to come, to join us for a night of worship and prayer.

There’s no program to attend and no expectation to meet. Just come. Come worship. Come pray. Come hurting. Come hopeful. Come and be with the people of God.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

A huge thank you to Penticton Alliance Church for so generously opening their space to us.

Everyone is welcome. Please share and help us get the word out.

Tomorrow’s service is cancelled. Church is not.

With Summerland evacuated and so many in our community displaced, we will not be gathering for our regular Sunday morning service tomorrow.

But while our service is cancelled, church is not.

Right now, we have an opportunity to be the church to one another and to our community.

If you have been displaced and need somewhere to stay, food, clothing, transportation, or any other practical help, please reach out. We have resources available and people ready to help you. We don’t want anyone in our community walking through this alone or wondering where to turn.

And if you are in a position to help, this is our opportunity to step in. Check on people. Pray with people. Share a meal. Open your home if you’re able. Help someone who has been displaced. Look for the needs around you and meet them where you can.

We know that some in our church family and throughout Summerland have already experienced devastating loss. In the days ahead, there will be much more to do, and as needs become clear, we will continue organizing practical ways for us to come alongside those who have been affected in our community.

Tomorrow morning, wherever you find yourself, take some time to pray with your family or with the people you’re staying with. Pray for those who have lost homes, for those who are still waiting to know what they will return to, for our firefighters and first responders, and for our whole community.

When an opportunity comes for us to gather in a safe place corporately, we will communicate via our social media and newsletter channels.

We love y’all. Psalm 46

Hello everyone. We are aware of one family in our church who lives in the Faulder area, and we’re thankful to report that they have safely evacuated.

If you are displaced from your home because of the fire and need somewhere to stay or other practical help, please reach out and let us know. Likewise, if you have space in your home and would be willing to accommodate someone who has been evacuated, please let us know.

For now, let’s be prayerful and also be prepared. Please stay attentive to official updates and, if you are in an area that could be affected, have a bag ready in case you need to leave quickly.

Let’s pray for those directly affected, for the firefighters and emergency crews working to protect our community, and for the safety of Summerland and the surrounding areas.

Love you all,
Pastor Markus

Service at Powell Beach this Sunday @ 10 AM! 🌊🙌

Join us for a special Beach Service! Pastor Dana will be sharing the message, and we’re excited to welcome The Springmans, a family worship band from Riverside Calvary Chapel in Langley, who will be leading us in worship.

Bring a lawn chair, and if you’re able, pack a picnic—we’d love for you to stick around after the service and enjoy some fellowship at the beach!

We can’t wait to worship with you!

Thinking about joining us? Now is a great time!

This Sunday we begin a new verse-by-verse study through the book of James.

It’s practical, direct, and calls us to put feet to our faith.

Or as Pastor Markus says… “the spiritual 2×4 over the head” of the Bible.
