As children head back to the classroom in September, demand for food assistance increases.

Community support is so important this time of year, and we are asking everyone to please help by adding a few of our most needed food items to your cart this month. Donation bins are available at the exits of most local grocery stores.

For those that can: monetary donations allow our purchasing team to stretch every dollar as far as it can go. They allow us to meet operational needs in real time, and they keep the lights on (literally).

If you are interested in becoming a donor, please visit wsfoodbank.ca/donate to learn more.

Thank you editor Glenn Jackson and the team at On The Road in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville for including Stouffville's The Terry Fox Foundation run in this month's magazine.

Thank you for your understanding.

August has arrived, and while many of us are enjoying an incredible summer, the need for food assistance in our community remains great.

Right now, the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank is experiencing very low inventory levels. Demand continues to grow as we move later into the year, making your support more important than ever.

Please consider picking up a few items from this list and placing them in one of our donation bins, available at the exits of most local grocery stores. Donations can also be dropped off in our bin at the Leisure Centre.

Need a quick reference while you shop? You can find our current Most Needed list here: https://wsfoodbank.ca/needed-food-items

Thank you for your continued generosity, Stouffville. We truly cannot do this without you.

The Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank is now serving clients every Sunday, except for most holiday weekends.

Our next open Sunday will be July 19, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

07/08/2026

This July, we hope you will consider picking up a few extra items for neighbours who may need a helping hand.

These targeted food donations support our purchasing and operations teams by helping restock staple food items and maximizing the impact of every monetary donation we receive.

Donation bins can be found at the exits of most local grocery stores, and monetary donations can be made online at wsfoodbank.ca/donate.

Thank you, Stouffville, for your continued generosity and for helping us support local individuals and families throughout the summer!
