Anglican Church of the Good Samaritan

Anglican Church of the Good Samaritan We are a Christian community in St. John's, NL that serves the world in the name of Christ, and worships Almighty God in the Anglican tradition.

We exist with a threefold purpose:
1. Enabled and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we desire to have and to grow in personal relationship with God the Father through His Son the Lord Jesus.

2. We desire deep fellowship and communion within the Body of Christ - the family of the Church.

3. Because the love of Christ compels us, we are intentional in reaching out to those less fortunate, through works of compassion both at home and abroad.

The sacraments are not boxes to check off on the list of religious rites of passage. Rather, they are a vital part of what it looks like to walk humbly with a God who made the world good and continues to work through his creation.

Join Fr. John Dinn on an exploration of the seven sacraments, tracing them from their biblical foundations through the Anglican Catechism and the Book of Common Prayer. Bring your questions and be prepared to be spiritually enriched by the treasures of Deep Anglicanism.

Millions of people have been streaming podcast episodes about the origins and history of the Bible. Gone are the days when the general population politely revered the Bible but rarely opened it. Today's generation wants the Bible to sink or swim: If it is a tool of oppression, let it be thrown away. But if it is truly divine in origin, let its voice reign among us.

Join Fr. Dave for a free seven-week course on the history of the Bible, following the ancient text on its historical path past major civilizations and past towering figures like Emperor Constantine and King James. Explore crucial questions, engage in group discussion, and come to see, in a deeper and fresher way, the veracity and power of the book that has changed our world more than any other.

Good day Good Samaritan,
I’m in flight on my way home and can’t wait to see everyone! I hope to attend the Tuesday night supper, Wednesday Holy Communion, and Sunday 8am, 10:30am, and the 7pm hymn sing. I will also celebrate Holy Communion Monday morning, (The Feast of the Holy Cross, and the Anniversary of the Consecration of the Church building).
I also have two weddings to attend, and Sarah and I celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary..it will be a very busy time!!! But I look forward to seeing and chatting with as many of you as I can!
